I live around the neighborhood, and have been to this joint a few times. Like one poster mentioned, it's no better than Sushi Garden, but the service is top notch. There's all this hype about it cause it's the only decent sushi joint in the area.
If you want great quality sushi made by real Japanese chefs around the area, go to KOKO instead.

^ saw your accord there tonight :7
I remember danizer did the headlights
Food was decent overall, no lineup, service was good FWIW.
Few minor complaints, menu is vague, I'm not a big fan of spicy food but I ordered the sushi pizza assuming that it wasn't spicy but man... Spicy tuna + spicy salmon + a spicy sauce... I told the server that it was too spicy/menu didn't say anything about it being spicy and he was willing to take it off the bill for us.
Also a few pieces of nigiri didn't arrive for both SWFK and I (separate bills) They also took these off the bill for us after we brought it to their attention.
Glad that they didn't try to argue etc.
Still left satisfied though and service was generally friendly. They keep having to come back to refill tea, should just get bigger cups or something lol...

The Menu
Awesome Roll
Salmon sashimi
House Roll and Nanaimo Roll
Takoyaki
And The Sushi Pizza
All pictures taken with an iphone 4, i rate the place 9/10 i just love watching people walk in and getting scared by the hello and byes, they should really put something to tell people what the spicy dishes are haha

was there last night for the first time. had the spicy salmon combo which was pretty good. gf ordered toro sashimi, nanaimo roll and we both split the sushi pizza. +1 about indicating which rolls were spicy. basically everything we had ended up being spicy and i couldn't really distinguish between the diff rolls.

Went there today and shared takoyaki, sushi pizza, wild salmon roll, negitoro roll and alaska roll. Decent alternative to Sushi Garden but I think I still prefer SG more.
8/10, would go back again.

With all the hype.. i went last Saturday. It does get quite busy even for lunch and the food was not bad. I can't say I would "crave" it but it is cheaper than sushitown.
We had the toro sashimi, party tray (the one for 2 people) and the awesome roll... That party tray is HUGE... we didnt finish (3 people)
I still think the awesome roll from sushitown tastes better. But its alot cheaper here and the service is 8/10

Alright mudder fuggers.
You bitches that keep on saying Nanaimo Sushi is the bomb, i love it when i'm high..etc
are fucking terrible people.
I went there and the food is absolute shit. I think it's worse that sushi garden and there is no way in hell their "awesome roll" is comparable to anything at sushiholic.
They make everything with waaaaay to much SHITTY rice @ sushi nanaimo. I'm not even comparing it to a gourmet place or anything the but the ratio is off the fucking scale and it tastes like doo-doo.
Conclusion?
Don't patronize this place and let it burn and rot in hell.
Oh yeah, if you think the pictures of the sushi pizza looks good, you've been deceived. It fucking sucks.
Oh but the service is decent. Also, does anyone know what the fuck they're yelling at you? It doesn't sound like japanese and it also doesn't sound like korean....

Ordered takeout there yesterday, some rolls, nigiri sushi and sashimi, as Alphamale said, the rolls had WAY TOO MUCH RICE and was inconsistent, some pieces were really big and some were so small. The rice was also pretty hard as if it was sitting there for a long time. The Nigiri Sushi was fresh and good except for the whole scallop one (had sand in it and tasted weird) but once again, WAY TOO MUCH RICE! Sashimi pieces were pretty big and did taste fresh.
Overall, 6.5/10.

Comparable to sushi garden - which I'll only go to with co-workers who have never frequented restaurants such as sushi hachi, shima ya, ajisai, hanako etc... I can see how this place would receive favorable reviews if you're looking for budget sushi and large portions.
Bottom line: nothing special. Vancouver is home to too many of these, 'sushi', restaurants.
