if no multi, everyone should be taking a greens supplement.
id venture to say 9 out of 10 of us dont get our proper servings of dark green veggies in a day.
greens supplements are basically the most nutritional green leafy veggies, dried, and pulverized. theres no broscience involved. its the veggies you dont want to eat, in a quick to ingest form.
what i look for in a protein: dissolves quick and doesnt taste like ass, also not too thick.
what i've tried and disliked, muscletech and myofusion, too thick for me, especially with milk, hate chugging that stuff down in the morning. myofusion also made me take a dump everytime i drank it, probably varies from person to person, lol.
what ive liked: ON and syntha 6, thin and tastes pretty good. most flavors are pretty good..mocha, chocolate, cookies n cream..vanilla.. ive had them all.. one i would avoid is the fruit punch.. lol big mistake when i got it, its powdery and foamy. you wanna build some quick muscle , first products i would pick up are protein and creatine.
muscle milk is tasty as hell but it is more of a 'treat' meal replacement than anything to do with training. Depending on your goals, it might have too much carbs or calories.
Monster Milk is a bit more reasonable, and almost just as tasty. More protein per serving (50g vs 32g) and less fat and carbs.
You are a NOOB, don't worry about supplements. Especially when you haven't stated your goals.
That said, the only supplements that I think EVERYONE with a not-so-great diet (IE the average diet) should take are:
-A good multi (Situation is wrong, there are good and bad ones) Brands: Orange Triad, MusclePharm, NOW
-ZMA (most people with a shitty diet are low in zinc and mag. Mag is especially important as we age, so start now. Plus it helps promote sleep). You usually only need 2 caps a night, not 3. Brands: Anything, ZMA is patented and all formulations are identical
-Fish oil (bottled it best, but caps can be taken away from home) Brands: Ascenta or Carlson for liquid, NOW for capsules
-Vitamin D (your multi won't have enough, and you won't be getting enough. Add 1000 iu daily in the summer, 5000 in the spring/winter months) Brands: Anything that uses D3
-Iron (for women, especially during their period) Brands: Get something that is CHELATED. NOW is good and has other good Womeny things added
If you're working out add these
-Protein (obviously. Take 2 scoops a day to easily add 50g of protein to your daily intake) Brands: Totally personal preference, but for whey I like Optimum and for blends I like Cytosport
-Pre-workout stimulant (any pre workout with caffeine - Assault, White Flood, SuperPump are good)
-Creatine - 5g a day. Your pre-workout might have it already, so you only need to take pure creatine every other day. Brands: Anything that uses CreaPure. Universal, Biotest, Prolab
ie.
breakfast: lean pocket bar / oatmeal / turkey breast cheese sandwich / nothing
lunch: rice , some sort of meat (chicken , beef, fish ), some sort veggie(pumpkin, spinach, )
dinner: 9/10 its same as lunch
I dont think it has nutrition value... correct me if i'm wrong.

gotta think of it like this.. if you aint eating right, youre basically wasting your workout

just realized that my username is the opposite of yours
anyways, do you guys have any suggestions for memory-enhancing vitamins, or anything for brain development? i've heard that anything that has fish oil in it helps but i'm not too sure

apparently creatine is suppose to help with brain function
if thats the case save the money youd spend on supplements and spend it on groceries. you NEED food
I mean i dont think it's BAD - but I'm sure it can be a lot better. I'm starting off by improving breakfast. Bought some oatmeal and fruit. going to start on that and improve gradually.
