I find it hard to believe how much I want one of these now.
The black/red option is pretty badass. Probably helps that the advertisements were pretty good too

160hp in a car that weighs 2200lbs?
That's pretty impressive. Almost reminiscent of the 2nd gen civic with b16, except lighter. I'm starting to think this could be a pretty cool little car after all.

0-60 in 7.4 sec

Not exactly fast, a stock Mini will do 0-60 in 9.0 sec for the same price and a Cooper S in 7.0 sec for a few $Ks more.

btw, I wonder if mopar would distribute a kit similar to the esse esse they have in europe... 180hp in a car "the size of a shoe"? sign me up plz.

the SS kit in Europe is only 160hp where the normal abarth 500 is 135hp in Europe. So essentially we are getting the 160hp model. A tune will prob do wonders for this little car too!

For those longing for faster pick up and go, wait for ZF's 9HP48 to come online and fitted to the Fiat around 2013ish. It comes with 2 sets of dog clutches for those want some bar facts

Put down my deposit today. Gonna be a long wait.. Best case scenario, I get the car in April. Worst case is that I get the car in June.

This will be a great little hatchback and it'll be tons of fun on backroads. The only thing I couldn't stand in the 500 was the typical Italian seating position. Other than that, it was quite the tossable car.

A 1.6 second difference is a big difference if you're talking about 0-60 times!

Before people get too excited, the driving position is kinda funny on the 500. It reminds me of the 1st gen CR-V where it has a 'school bus' driving position.

I would have expected a 2200 lb car with that kind of power to be a little bit faster than that.

just ordered me a BLK 500 sport which ima tune myself in le future, it's got potential to hit 160hp or more N/A w/o their lil bolt on abarth turbo n Koni springs.... xD

hahaha 0-60? lol b plz that's what this yellow beauty in my DP is for, test drove one wid 4 ppl in it, me, my gf, my friend, n le salesman n it actually felt as quick as my buddy's Honda Fit fully loaded hahaha not bad plus for sub $20k it has AUTO WINDOWS INCL PASSENGER.... Customizeable keyless entry AND BLUETOOTH!!!! 4.9% for financing on 7 years LOL ima only pay like $120 every half a month..... n throw them the rest of the car's balance whenever! compared to the Scion IQ.... the IQ is more like a shitty smart car..... ur handling is as great as a PARK Bench on 4 wheels HAHA this lil car is will let my gf learn manual!

yah north american Abarth 500s will have 160hp supposingly instead of 135hp, so we kinda get an SS...
but if a 1200cc Ducati can hit 190hp....... this lil baby will be an ultimate sleeper..... huehuehue

sequel to first commercial

Saw the abarth convertible at the auto show and my gawd is it pricey. the one on display was supposedly 32k.

Whereas the red one next to it, the 500 turbo, is like 24k (around there). And the turbo still has 135hp which is not bad for a little car. Also, it has black headlights which is pretty cool, the Abarth has the regular headlights.
