Your M3 has a 60% larger fuel tank.

Just a quick review of the abarth for anyone who is planning to buy one.
It's perfect for city roads due to the size. The steering is stiff, with good feel. There is more then enough power to get you from point a to b. Sounds great, but excessive sometime. Shoulder checking on the driver side is awkward because you see nothing so it's useless. What fiat did to solve the problem, they attached a second mirror to the main mirror, something I'm not use to. Now the worst part, it's freaking loud on the high way! I thought the road noise on my clk63 was bad, Omg the abarth's worst. Maybe it's because I got the 17 inch wheels? I got 530km on a tank of gas, but remember it's only a 40L tank. Overall I'm pretty happy with the car.

after one year since i made this post. i finally got it. Waited around for a bit to see what other new cars are coming out in the market. considered getting frs/brz for the same price range. ended up getting the abarth. Like what BBMme said, the car is awesome for the city and a blast to drive. Very happy with my purchase.

their lease rate is pretty bad finace is okay tho

they said its cause the car's new and don't have much info on residual.

However they are having $4500 off right now.....
and I am very tempted

hk20000 12-16-2013 01:09 AM

Lease rate is bad because Chrysler simply does not have an in-house lending deal and the lease goes through an aftermarket leasing company.... This might change but as it sits Chrysler rather finance you their cars.

I wanted an Abarth pretty bad, but i ended up choosing a focus ST in the end. Worked out only 2k more and you get a HELL of a lot more car. Someone in my building did recently buy an abarth vert, and dat exhaust note still makes me wet

I don't own one, but there's this little old lady who always drives by my house in a black one. Not sure if hers has an aftermarket exhaust or not, but the car sounds mean as hell. I always get a good chuckle whenever she floors it from the stop sign outside my house. :awwyeah:

I test drove both recently and good choice, IMO. Neither are my kind of car, but my buddy is interested in getting one and is still learning to drive stick, so he enlisted me to test them out on his behalf. I definitely liked the Focus ST more.

320icar 12-16-2013 11:40 AM

I got it employee pricing factory ordered '14. It worked out to be about 2k more, and it's very nice. I think the biggest thing i didn understand is in the abarth you can't option a nav screen (which is fucked for almost 30k) they just sell you a Garmin GPS they stick onto the dash like an afterthought. And that sort of summed up alot of the car for me.. But I still go "aww yeah" when I see an abarth drive by.

Worst thing in the ST is the exhaust note. Even all the aftermarket systems sort of fail. The 2.0L ecoboost just doesn't sound good. Not nearly as good as the 2.3 in the maDapseed 3

One thing I will miss for sure is parking in tight spaces=(

snails 12-16-2013 12:45 PM

^ the st and the abarth both sounds great, in the abarth all you can hear is the turbo yelling at you through the exhaust and the st i heard sounded like a mix between a mustang and a subi.. was a very nice noise! thats with an aftermarket system though..

ive driven an abarth before and the car felt very soft.. i guess thats just in comparison to my hatch.. and the seating position is weird, the steering wheel is like 2" to the left from center position but you get used to is quickly.. i love the trim level and the cluster! but the car itself is a little to small for me.. and im not a very big guy

dovo 12-17-2013 01:47 PM

i am enjoying my abarth very much. it is small and somewhat compromising. i dont regret my purchase. the fact that they are giving $4500 is even better. go for it. you wont regret it. my buddy did some work to it. vw3 coils, short shifter and piggy back.. its a whole.different car.

That sounds pretty expensive.

For my BRZ, I'm paying 200 a month with 30% discount

1m liability
1000 collision
300 comprehensive

tofu1413 12-17-2013 04:52 PM

err

im paying 2400 a year for mine... @ 35% discount... 2mil, full coverage, 500 deductables..

320icar 12-17-2013 05:53 PM

Depends where it's insured too. I know my car insurance quoted in Ladner was almost $400 a year cheaper than in Richmond
