Mr.C 02-06-2012 08:39 PM

If all my commute was city, I'd totally buy that.

Levitron 02-06-2012 08:51 PM

Just because.

dovo 02-06-2012 09:04 PM

Yeah pretty much set my mind up on trading my 350z for this car when it comes in april.. they are all track tested- US Abarth buyers get exclusive one time offer to go onto a track with a professional (paid by Fiat) and learn how to properly drive this car.. wahhh :alonehappy:

I don't suppose this is the turbo version, but rather just for looks? Have you test driven the fiat 500? Its so slow and underwhelms. I would rather buy a used base model Mini Cooper for half the price, yet has more room and power! Make sure you actually try some acceleration onto the freeway, this thing might be okay puttering around Richmond, but will struggle in burnaby forcing you to use high RPM's wasting on your fuel milage. The turbo version adds 50+ HP and should be out soon here. And for the love of god, you must buy it in manual!

Do a little reading please... Abarth = turbo. Abarth SS = moar turbo.

The name "Abarth" sounds pretty unattractive...

Look at some of the stuff they did way back. Abarth 695SS had the engine bay welded open because they found out that leaving it up would get them extra MPH. The helped devlop the engine on the Lancia Delta S4, one of the greatest Group B rally cars ever made. Pretty good pedigree in my books. Wishing I had waited to get this instead of just a Sport

how much would these go for Stateside? I'm guessing not a massive saving...wander if Fiat Canada will recognize their warranty.

shenmecar 02-07-2012 11:48 AM

I've driven the Fiat 500 Sport for a day, I can say it is awfully slow. You can probably count from 110-120 faster than it can accelerate. However the handling makes up for the lack of power. Short wheel base ftw.

I just can't wait to try the Abarth out!

they are only 1k less. But depending on which state you are in, you would save on the tax..

The North America version of Abarth has more HP than the europe spec.. and more options.

I'm puttding down my deposit, but prolly test drive the sport at the lot when I go to their dealer. 160hp and 170 torque.. yes please :D
