It sells for cheaper (have seen go on sale for as low as $20 for the 4 kg box).

Having said that, it's effing disgusting. Seasoned = injected full of salt water to pump up the weight. Those chicken breasts are GROSS.

The chicken is supplied by Sunrise Poultry which supplies a number of restaurants (Cactus Club, Joeys, etc.) so I wouldn't exactly say its gross.

lily dale chicken breast at cosco is my favorite by far, 28 bucks last me a week ( as i m cutting )

its fresh and its hella tender when grilled with no oil just some spices.

Yes I would say it's gross. Cactus club and joey's are gross and the food at those places sucks.

The process that they put frozen chicken breasts through changes the texture to mush and makes them uber salty. They also don't cook properly vs a fresh chicken breast which on a $/g protein basis is JUST AS CHEAP

In addition, the chicken that sunrise supplies to restaurants are fresh. Keep that in mind.

The frozen ones just suck. As DaFonz and others have stated, pumped up and taste is shit.

Wal-Mart has Turkey Sausage for 30% off ($5 discounted to $3). Just bought some. Looks like they still have 10 packages left. Expiry Feb 22.

They also have chicken wings 30% off

Fuck me you guys were right. The old frozen chicken breasts I used were amazing, no saltiness, perfect texture .. tasted 100000x better than this shit I just picked up. I was literally gagging trying to eat it, it was so mushy and rubbery even when fully cooked :fulloffuck:

I bought some turkey sausages at Walmart for $3. They are a bit salty, and better if chop them up and mix them in with eggs/egg whites and peppers.

Fresh chicken breast at T&T - $1.99 a lb.
Pork tenderloin at No-frills - $2.99 lb.

Never buy frozen chicken. If you read the label, there's a lot of water they inject into the meat. You cannot do that with fresh chicken.

They also add other stuff to it. That's why it tastes like shit. Also, when cooked, they shrink a lot. Bacon these days are like that as well. All water. Gotta read the label and pay attention to the order of ingredients , not just the daily recommended and whatnot. If water is first, second, or high on the list, you are paying for water.

The list of ingredients on a label must be put in order of most used to least in whatever amount of product measured.

Cheapest prices on eggs. Extra large (makes a difference) eggs are cheapest at Superstore. They are in packages of 18 in styrofoam containers. You need to buy them in groups of two.

How to calculate cost......... take price and divide by 18, then multiply by 12 to get cost of dozen. Extra large eggs are more worth it. I even weighed the difference between medium, large and extra large. Extra large is best buy.

So in this example you'd be paying approx $15.40/lb if my calculations are correct; assuming each voucher is worth $25/4 = $6.25, plus the additional amount above $50 with tax and shipping at $28.40 = $34.65, divided by 2.25 lbs to $15.40.

I've been having greek yogurt before bed lately and superstore usually has a bunch for 50% off when it's nearing the due date.

If you eat a LOT of spinach.. id recommend that..

Rule of thumb, if your buying vegetables of any sort.. Go to a chinese super market (ex. Sunrise or a small shop upstairs of T&T on 1st ave)
They sell vegetables for like half the price compared to superstore/t&t/walmart...

Tried the Lilydale chicken breasts when they were on sale. Not impressed. So much water. The ones from Thrifty Foods are good.

I've bought the box of frozen chicken from pricesmart before when it goes on sale for $17 from $40ish. Tastes really salty but its cheap.

Chicken breasts on sale this weekend. $2 per Lb. Not too bad considering 9lbs cost about $40 at costco.

Ya, flyer for Vancouver superstore is different :-( $5.88/lb for chicken breast club pack.

Guys - T&T has fresh chicken breasts on sale for $2.99 almost every single week. Nesters, save-on and iga will also rotate them and I've seen them as low as $2.49/lb.

At those prices, there's absolutely NO REASON to buy that frozen junk.
