chicken breast ever go for 1.99?

DaFonz 05-02-2012 10:24 PM

Not unless you buy the frozen junk (which on a $/g protein basis is the same if not worse than fresh chicken breast)

ShadowBun 05-02-2012 10:25 PM

yea these frozen ones taste nasty.

right now I've been eating chicken legs from Costco in the States @ 99cents/lb as alternatives lol

DaFonz 05-03-2012 09:19 PM

... and TNT now has chicken breasts on sale for $1.99. :woot2:

ShadowBun 05-04-2012 07:36 PM

what?! I shall go!

nns 05-06-2012 09:15 AM

Safeway has striploin steaks for $6.99/lb / $15.41/kg, but is limited to 2. Superstore has the same deal, but no limit IIRC.

Also, Maple Leaf bacon is buy 1 get 1 free at Safeway. Not sure if Superstore has the same thing.

Phozy 06-03-2012 06:09 PM

NoFrills has Foremost chocolate milk, 1L for $1, bought 20, expires june 15th :fullofwin:

nns 06-03-2012 06:14 PM

I don't buy salmon often, so can someone tell me if this is a good deal:

$7.48 lb / 16.49/kg for fresh Atlantic salmon fillets at Superstore.

Excelsis 06-03-2012 06:25 PM

if you want fresh salmon check out the steveston fish shops by the dock

pink salmon is around $3 per lb, though it's not fillet it does taste better when you fry it

All no frills i think. but the one in surrey on fraser highway does indeed have $1 chocolate milk.

DaFonz 06-03-2012 09:21 PM

Beef blade steaks at nesters $1.98/lb.

subordinate 06-06-2012 09:56 PM

Thanks for the heads up but Nesters blows.

Meat selection is damn limited. And Blades were all gone at Main St.
Tho, a couple of the cashiers were cute.

To add, Bacon is also for a dollar (about half the weight of normal ones).
6 per household, but goes fast. So it might be worth whiled to go in the morning to grab it.

You don't go for selection - you go for sales.

Yaletown has plenty of blades. I bought 10 lbs worth and they restocked it all.

Meowjin 06-07-2012 11:46 PM

getting sick of drumsticks/thighs.

Wheres a decent place to buy chicken breasts without waiting for a sale? T&T?

ShadowBun 06-08-2012 12:01 AM

safeway
when they have these coupons, their chicken boobies are pretty cheap

Meowjin 06-08-2012 12:22 AM

I would kill for some lamb right now hahah.

I said best without coupons though ;)

ShadowBun 06-08-2012 12:52 AM

Meowjin 06-08-2012 11:49 AM

Best way to prepare pork shoulders?

red_sir 06-08-2012 12:09 PM

^ pulled pork

sonick 06-08-2012 12:17 PM

+1 pulled pork.

If you have a slow cooker and you're lazy, buy a pack of Clubhouse Slow Cooker Pulled Pork seasoning for $1.49, dump that in with other stuff according to package, set it and forget it.

My favourite way is Tacos. Slow cook.. then cut into little bits.. then spread thin on a pan and broil the fuck outta them in the oven until they're brown and crispy. Heck, you dont even need the tacos.. just eat brown crispy bits of pork.

Char siu.
