like the E90 generation... waiting a little longer for more stuff to come out is worth it.
M sport cars pkg are scheduled to arrive around june to july.
Go for a drive, see if you like it.
the twin scroll 2.0 4 banger gives plenty of punch around town actually. its quite torquey at low revs and gives quite the wooosh.

I'm gonna pick a 328i with Sports Line next year myself, can't wait. Hope they include the Paddle shifters + 2TB Sports Automatic for MY2013. Only thing that's stopping me from getting a MY2012 is the paddle shifters + Sports Automatic.
If you're picking up a MY2012, get the 328i. I wouldn't be surprised if the 335i gets a power-bump later on, maybe at LCI? But some people are speculating that, their might be a power bump when the coupe arrives next year. Quote:

HonestTea, I feel the same, M-Sport wheel isn't doing it for me.
Waiting is an option, but there is always something newer and better in the future, right? Might as well just pick something you like when you like it and be happy with it.
Why do you care about paddle shifters? Would you really use them? If you really like such control, why not get a manual?

Why do you care about paddle shifters? Would you really use them? If you really like such control, why not get a manual? | Well, the paddles do shift noticeable quickly than than the standard original up/down shifter. Plus it's just so much more fun using paddles and it kind of resembles F1 it's no DCT or M-DCT but it's still pretty fun, you should try it, although it's only for the 335i for now in Canada. It suck's that BMWNA is offering it on both the 328/335 in the states.
Secondly, for the 328 ZSL, their isn't the 2TB option, which means Sports automatic, means more aggressive and sporty shifts.
2TB is the option you need as it has sportier shifting programming, a nicer shift lever and the wheel-mounted paddles you mention.
Edit: To be honest, it's usually not a deal breaker for most buyers but I really want paddle shifters, I'm probably a one-off LOL scenario, so I'd rather wait, not in a hurry to purchase a car

When I test drove the 328i it had a button for three modes of driving: sport, comfort and economy.
8 speed automatic shifted fast, sport mode kept the revs higher between gears and economy - lower, which makes sense.
Why don't you get a manual? I've been driving a manual all my life (but since this car will be a daily driver and I am ready for a change... I decided to change to automatic). You may like it a lot more than pedal shifters!

The new 3 series sedan looks very much like the current 5 series, espeically the rear.
Guess what this is without cheating: |

07-11 used the twin turbo set up
2012 switched to the twin scroll set up (single turbo)
i think its for the better, the twin turbo had high pressure fuel pump issues. but bmw will honor an 8 year warranty towards them
but then, the new 2012 models just came out, new body styling, i think they named these chassis f30 or something now. Quote:

And the sound package is a must have too compare to the stock stereo.
Go and test drive a 335i and see the difference, if you really love it and blows you away then there you go, but if its meh, then go with the 328i.
i am excited for you man, getting a new car is always fun and exciting. keep us updated. | I have driven many 335i and I have a 2012 A4 2.0L turbo. My A4 has 258lbs of torque, which sounds great on paper, but in the real world, it is gutless Vs BMW 3L TT. If you have an open road and you just mash the throttle, th 4cyl turbos will get off the line quite well. However, in real world driving with traffic, the hint of turbo lag and being caught in the wrong gear really sucks.
My assumption the F30 328i will drive like a 6cyl and the 3L TT will drive like a big V8

and for OP, get the 335i if you can, as theres going to be a day where your going to think " fuck why didnt i get the 335i, the 328i is so slow and just not as cool as the 335i, not to mention the m3 thats going to come out soon"

328i msport. If youre not goin to track, the 4cyl turbo is plenty for city/hwy. BUT being a brand new motor to the bmw line and being turbo at that, expect to have problems (you'll have warranty anyways).
Also, reviews stated mpg is comparable to a camry Posted via RS Mobile |

Also, reviews stated mpg is comparable to a camry Posted via RS Mobile | Yeah, but they were comparing it to the 3.5 DI V6 on the Camry, even though the Camry has an extra 50hp and burns regular. The Camry V6 (hell even the Rav4 V6) will destroy a lot of cars on the road today. Anyways, apples to oranges..
Wow, the M Sport changed my mind about the F30. I really dislike the chrome grille thing that connects the headlights, but with the M Sport I can live with it.

I had the chance to take a look at the new 3 sedan in person today. A white modern line is sold already in the Autowest showroom. It's a nice change from the e90 sedans, but here are a couple things:
- how are the front plates going to be mounted? It has no holes drilled but a big piece of extra thing that appears to be sticking out of the front bumper.
- the Navi screen looks like a cheap glue on. I can rock it back and forth. It's a nice design but kind of flimsy. Posted via RS Mobile |

I think it looks way better without it.

In my humble opinion, a BMW is only a BMW if you have an inline-six. Sure, the 4-banger puts out a good amount of power, but to get the BMW experience, you need a six. The only 4 cylinder BMW worth owning is an E30 318is.
Why not just get a late-model E92 such as a 335is?

For goodness sake, don't pick the car trim based on the exterior looks alone.. especially if you are getting a 3er as a daily driver.
Go to the dealership and ask for extended test drives on the different trims BEFORE you put in the order.. Do the extended test drive on the roads you will drive the most. eg I drive the S curve on Highway 1 to Hwy7, Lougheed, Ioco to Bedwell Bay the most.. The Sport package on any BMW is really harsh on our roads especially at this time of the year, be sure you are happy with the ride quality.
