sad to see Suzuki go if they are. I had a 95 sidekick 2 door back then,a bit under power but so much fun with that little car, topless in the summer and no problem in the snow. I didnt get stuck once even with that big snow back in the 97/98. Suzuki really should focus on what they do best - 4X4 SUV, bring the Jimny over. forget the on road SUV shit and redo the Sidekick/Vitara line.

The old Suzuki Samurais, Swifts, and Sidekicks were all pretty good. Everything afterwords has been really forgettable.

It is the classic example that a car manufacturer that makes low margin huge volume cars can no lower be independent in this world. That's just the way the world goes.

Suzuki is doing very well outside of NA. It just so happens that NA Suzuki is poorly managed.
They do produce good vehicles, if you can ignore the fake Suzuki cars. Swift+ is not a swift, it's also not a Suzuki! It's a rebadged daewoo. Arrrgge
I wish we had the same swift as the rest of the world when they came out with it. I read long ago that NA could of done it but chose not to.

Another problem is Suzuki's forte is in small cars..and we live in the "Super sized" continent. Take Fiat last year as an example.. they thought small cars will sell like gang busters in the States because its cheap.. but it didn't work out very well.
It is hard to compete with large volume manufacturer on cost alone.
You can say bring Swift all you like, but getting it homogelated for North America cost money and to reduce cost, they have to do it in mind when starting the design cycle. I can't see them able to do that now with VW out of the picture. Quote:

The richmond c-lai's were keeping them afloat for awhile by scooping up their Grand Vitaras a few years ago.
Sad to see them go, my Suzuki vtwin bike was a fun little thing that I still miss sometimes.

There's been recent reports that Suzuki is bringing over that version of the Swift. If they can hold out, they can probably sell a decent number of them.

Yup, yup. Sad, but no surprise to many of us at clubsx4.com
Suzuki USA was probably one of the most stupidly managed car companies. No advertising and no swift or jimny. Assholes.
My car will probably depreciate even more, but I don't care. I'm bought it new for driving.
