I saw Belaud's car in person tonite. Even in the dark with L.E.D. flashlights..

Wow...:rukidding:What a let down. I feel so bad for him. I really hope he gets his car back to factory condition or a new paint job. Best of luck to you bro.

Im fairly certain you were expecting me to over exaggerate when I said my paint is completely destroyed

Anyways, I want to point out a few things.

1. At this point, I myself don't find it unreasonable to ask for a new car, and a lot of you are right, I am too nice/patient. As for the reasoning; simply because, like most of you said, the detailing will only mask the imperfections for so long, the scratches are pretty much permanent. Unless the dealership/owner are willing to pay every 5 months for a new cover up of wax, then thats fine with me. I bought a new car, I got a 20 year old looking car instead. I did not expect cars to come in dog years.

2. An alternative is to have the entire car repainted to OBP OEM, the damage is too far done, I had a local RS-er look at the scratches who details for a living. He says the vertical scratches are impossible to get out due to the fact they are at the very very limit of the clear coat, the buff marks on the edges of my car are also impossible to fully get out, as actually have no more clearcoat on it, some of the paint is even rubbed off. This alternative however, will not have my car looking "brand new". It will have imperfections (minor overspray, imperfect colour match).

3. Get it detailed, run away with tit loads of compensation.

lil_kid 02-25-2012 12:10 AM

belaud, best of luck to you on Monday, i can't imagine the frustration you had to go through

on a side note, im having a lot of fun reading the comments on the Richmond Subaru FB page, props to RS!

Anjew 02-25-2012 12:13 AM

if it happened to me i would not have accepted delivery of the car. A new car is what i would EXPECT.

clearly that dealership is drunk on their lavish ways for far too long. mainlanders dropping wads of cash with minimal effort on the dealership part is to blame.

we need to keep the heat on until subaru of canada sends an investigator down and once and for all.

good luck Belaud, i really hope they compensate you with a new car.

If they keep jerking Belaud around a bunch of us are going to show up in a mob, give out leaflets to customers driving in / put up some signs.. hopefully get the news involved. Just to reiterate, we're not looking to cause any trouble, let's just mob up and get the media to swing by.

Might make sense to put in your first post that the scratches are now beyond detailing. I looked at the cross-posted thread to iWSTI and some ppl there seem to think it'll "buff right out" from the pics..

Every minute the bean counters waste on resolving this issue, it spreads more. I can't believe they aren't just replacing the vehicle immediately to stop the bleeding.

What's their phone number? I think I need to make a service appointment for my Subaru that I completely intend on showing up for. :ilied:

papasmurf2k3 02-25-2012 06:40 AM

By the way, if you google "Richmond Subaru", Honda-Tech's version of this thread is on the first page.

Facebook only gets you so far. Google "Dobbs Honda, Memphis" and look at the 4th result. That's how it's done. :)

The more times "Richmond Subaru" shows up in this thread's content, the more relevant it will be on google, and the higher it will climb in the search results.

I like how more people have "liked" Hank's comment than have "liked" Richmond Subaru's page all together.

their facebook page is effectively a write-off

Hey, what's this? Their Yelp review page!

Richmond Subaru - Steveston - Richmond, BC

Disclaimer: Just sharing information.

LiquidTurbo 02-25-2012 08:45 AM

Yep. Will never EVER step foot in their dealership and telling EVERYONE I know about this thread.

Refusal to pay $500 to help your customer rectify situation? Lost 1000s in potential business.

sounds like they're telling people on RS to stfu and mind our own business with that canned response.

so glad i didn't get a car from richmond subaru.

kuruuze 02-25-2012 08:51 AM

I wonder how long it'll be until they delete all their comments, or take down their Facebook page altogether. Seriously, do they seriously think that they're in the right or this will just blow over/be swept under the carpet? It boggles the mind.

CRS 02-25-2012 09:10 AM

belaud, how is the GM dealing with you directly?

This seems to be their standard response and I would really like to know what is going on and how he has or has not changed his tone?

F30 02-25-2012 09:57 AM

Is the scratch really beyond saving? What did they use on that poor car to scratch it that deep? I didn't know you could do that from just a detailing job!

OP, keep us posted on the talks. They cannot edit this thread but it sure would be nice if they responded here to answer some very simple questions.
