My parents bought a Forester from them a couple years ago and they finance guy slipped a ~$500 charge into the invoice. I can't remember the details of how it happened - whether it was added into the finance total for the car or not - but I was in the room when the writeup was being done and there definitely ZERO mention of any cost to finance via Subaru.
Partly my parents fault for not catching it as they were signing the papers but shame on the dealer for not explaining what they were doing. Eventually my parents got a partial service credit for their troubles.
Definitely not a dealer I would recommend to anyone.

I've only ever had 1 experience at Richmond Subaru, and it sucked from a customer service standpoint, but probably could have happened at any dealership. Wanted a used non-Subaru vehicle they had in stock. Checked the car outside on my own for probably 20 minutes, had to go in and ask reception for somebody to give me a hand. Knowing roughly what they paid for the car, did the standard lowball offering, they highballed back in return. I eventually moved up to a very reasonable offer which the sales guy was asking for and really about $1k more than I wanted to pay originally, then his manager got him to try and bleed me for another $500. Obviously I left.
He emailed me to come back 3 days later to discuss around that extra $500 offer. I told him I'm not wasting my time coming down unless it was for my final offer and we left it at that. All is good, standard negotiation practice, we parted ways because we could not come to a deal and no feelings hurt. He then emailed me 2 weeks later telling me the car sold for $1k more than my final offer--as if I cared at that point. That was a dick move and tipping point, I'd never go back there even if I was looking for a Subaru.
I should have emailed him back saying I ended up buying the same 10k lower mileage car than the one he tried to sell me for $2500 less, but didn't bother to waste 30 seconds of my life on that |

When I was looking at STis the sales wouldnt even tell me what colors were in stock without putting a deposit first.
I and went to Geremy at Speciality and he treated me great.
Recently I was calling around to dealerships to see if they had he OEM rack bases in stock. Richmond said they had it. When I got there, they actually didnt have it and wanted me to pay in advance for them to order one in...

When I wanted to get back into a manual car, I went to Richmond Subbie to trade my 08 Evo X in for a 2011 STI. Sat down and worked out the numbers, but they gave me one of the lowest trade in values for my car and wouldn't budge in their STI price. When I politely said I needed to think about it as it was a lot of money on the line, the manager came out and started yelling at me. He said things like why I wasn't buying it and that I wasted the sales time. I told him the price wasn't right and he told me to get out and to keep driving my crappy car! Posted via RS Mobile

Posted via RS Mobile | That's horrible. The fat old sales manager is really rude, I watched him cuss and make excuses to a customer because his newly purchased car wasn't here yet. It wasn't pleasant to even hear it let alone have him talk to me in that kind of attitude.

Hmm ... Was I watching him whine and make excuses at you?
Maybe I am wrong about what he was yelling about, but that's sort of the idea I got.

Hopefully it'll be good news when you get your car back from the detailer.

you guys ready for some more bad news?
so....i got screwed on the pricing too, we had initially negotiated 42,200. my papers show 42,895. They tacked on an extra $600 out of nowhere, I realize Im screwed because I signed for it... I can't believe what I'm seeing right now, I'm in Richmond, not Surrey!!!
I didn't check this until I realized I'm paying a few more dollars on my monthly payments.
