Richmond subaru doesn't deserve my energy to complain since I was getting a recall done with no charge. That's the only time I go into dealerships; for recalls.
But, when I get time I'll upload them videos

even if you did record your experience. technically they can sue you back for unlawful no consented recording without their approval. the same rule applies in court that you must state you are recording them before hand. if you were pulled over by a cop, and decided to record the whole incident, you cannot legally use it in court as evidence.
so whatever u can do, must be done outside of going to court. Quote:

Then when he dropped it off at don docksteader, the techs there realized they were being recorded and unplugged my dash cam. Still have the vids but haven't uploaded it yet. | Quote:

What's wrong with this world. You know what's the best defense? Not doing anything wrong in the first place. To do something wrong, get caught on camera, and have it not mean shit cause you weren't told you were being filmed is such bs, I can't wrap my head around it. /rant

Not strictly true. If you're recording something on public property (ie: in a street), you don't need the other persons consent to publish it. It's once you start recording inside a private building that you typically need permission.

^I'm leaning towards Lomac on this one. There's two parts you can argue for Jude:
When Jude handed his keys over to the dealership for a recall campaign, a 'reasonable standard of care' is to be expected from the dealership; and that the dealership has accepted the responsibility of 'care' to perform the work, and to take reasonable care of the car. By allowing the lot boy to drive the car in such a manner that breaches this 'standard of care' (i.e. revving the crap out of the car), then the duty is breached, and Judy can sue for damages. Now the hard part is for Jude to prove that harm was caused to the vehicle by their negligent actions.
With respect to the vehicle surveillance, the camera was installed to not entrap the dealership, but to simply protect the OP's beloved asset, his car. The camera was not installed in a 'confined' space (I'm assuming you've placed it underneath the rearview camera like 99% of the cameras out there), so the dealership has a very crappy case for 'entrapment.'
I just feel like rambling tonight.... (YMMV)
TL;DR, avoid Richmond Subaru.. LOL

What if you have a dash cam installed, with the Power Magic installed.
You park at a McDonalds...Metro's parking lot. And your car get vandalized.
Technically, you are in a "private property".
Will one get sue by the the defendant for recording him without permission?
Or would he be charged for his criminal actions? |

"factory trained" is such bull, kids making 10$/h usually with little or no prior training get hired for lube position, yes some are obviously good, but dont stick to being a lube tech to long for that reason. i worked at a dealership quite a few years and have seen the lube techs fck up pretty bad. putting in wrong oil, forgetting oil cap, FORGETTING TO TIGHTEN THE DRAIN PLUG! thats happened a few times and customer comes back for a new engine after it was seized on the hwy and when you get your car wash, same brush that was on the guys wheels 5 mins earlier is all over that nice paint.. |

Only thing I went to Richmond Subaru for was for touch up paint. Anything else I'd rather do it at another dealership.

When I first got my Leggy Wagon, I needed an oil change, and spotted a coupon in a 24 hour newspaper. It came with a basic inspection.
They quoted me nearly $3000 to do the headgasket, which wasn't even due for a bit. And they did this without blinking, like they couldn't give two shits if I got the work done there or not.
$3000 on a basic 4-cyl EJ25? The car couldn't be easier to work on, what a crock of shit.
I of course have never been back there, as it seemed like they could care less anyways....but now I get their spam mail in my letterbox every couple weeks, sometimes more.
THE WORST PART is I called them to tell them to stop sending me shit, and I still receive it.
What the hell does it take for them to never contact me again???

I officially stop going to Richmond for my services. I go to the great Canadian oil change in chilliwack for my oil change. It soo much cheaper and if you have their oil filter, $5 off for your next oil change.
