I thought Richmond Subaru deleted the comment (maybe they did), but it looks like Richmond Subaru just banned me from their facebook site. I got a reply from Richmond Subaru: |

Seems like a pretty bad allocation of funds doesn't it? They can't hire a good detailer (or customer service rep), but social media is a #1 priority!
Edit: I just got a text from a FB friend that said my post popped up on their newsfeed/top story wall. So it doesn't appear to be blocked.

^ Wow, didn't expect someone from Mississippi to register and post how their comments are being dealt with! I guess this thread is starting to pick up speed on it's spread onto other forums. Started reading your story, and it's brutal so far.

Hmm if Richmond Subaru knows what's good for them they'll make things right with belaud asap or they might end up like that bmw dealership that didn't honor an ebay bid.

Besides, I've been to Canada a few times I drove from my house in Mississippi to St. John's a few years ago. That was a hike.
Sky_High, can you post a link to that page? I can't view Richmond Subaru's page content anymore hahah.
Brenda thought she'd get all self righteous on me.

Brenda Garcia Yes, I did read the looooonnnngggg thread...Clearly he's upset but maybe there's more to the story?

James Sisson Its pretty cut and dry. He got a vehicle with messed up paint, brought it back, they handled the situation like dog shit, then handled his car even worse (repeatedly). The spiral of shit continued into the massive clusterfuck it has turned into now... or do you have some information to share that no one else knows about?

I'm sure its been removed by the social media sorceress and converted to a semi-private message.

She's most likely the social media liaison for Richmond Subaru, hence the quick response to my post. She's just doing her job (hey, at least someone affiliated with Richmond Subaru is!). She's also reportedly reading this thread.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but, I wonder if the Richmond Subaru "detailer" is on revscene? If so, you should be ashamed of yourself (or pat yourself on the back for fooling your employers that you actually do good work). Not sure if their "detailer" is unskilled or doesn't take pride in their work, and I'm not sure which one is worse.

But just go to Subaru Richmond's website...and you'll find the full name + picture of him smiling |

That would be Mr. Cho? If he messed up the car then he doesn't deserve to be called a detailer.

It is absolutely deplorable how you are being treated, and the bullshit they are feeding you.
I am guessing they have someone who is inexperienced using a rotary buffer. Ugh. No wonder there are swirl marks.
There is no addional special coating applied to a new car for protection during transit when it leaves the factory. That is what the clearcoat is for. I went on a factory tour of two Ford plants (St-Thomas and Woodhaven) and GM (Bowling Hills-- 'Vette) and the car's paint is cured in an oven before it leaves the plant. It is clear that who ever used the buffer put pressure on the buffer(which you should never do) on the car's panel and caused the scratches and swirls.
As a note, my friend bought a new Mustang and had the exact same problem. The dealer didn't want to do anything. The paint was much worse, and also black. Full of scratches and swirls. After a long and wasteful fight with the dealer, he went above them and contacted Ford of Canada. They had someone look at the car, and he got his Mustang repainted. All this because the dealer fucked up the detail.

The ultimate FAIL on so many levels. I did my part, posted a polite message on their FB account but seem to be blocked now.
So let me get this right, potential customers who are car enthusiasts see a beautiful STI scratched up, customer mistreated AND get blocked on FB?
To the OP, with their business model they have already lost SIGNIFICANTLY more than $500 on a decent detailing job! If anyone actually bothered to check how fast your images and story was spreading over the internet and how many people saw it... add to that all potential buyers who will "check reviews" of the car and the dealers (who will undoubtedly read this thread) - oh my. How many sales do you think they lost in potential business? How much does that hit their bottom line?
I am surprised they are taking this long to settle this privately and quietly with you! This will be a very expensive lesson on what not to do in business.

interesting article, however, i think you guys should be more concerned with treating customers with fair share of sentient moral value rather then worrying about drinking and driving laws as of now. Afterall, keeping the business running is probably a bit more important then being concerned with drinking and driving laws don't you think?
