Does shaw throttle bitorrent bandwidth?

does shaw limit BT speeds? I just switched over from telus 15 mbps to shaw 50mbps and my downloads have actually slowed down. I do my speed test almost everyday and I get around 45mbps down. I also use torrents with really high seed:leech ratios and high seeders in general yet my dl's get to max only like 300 kb/s.. so disappointed lol I was expecting at least 2.5 mb/s which is double what I usually get on my telus 15 mbps.. sometimes torrents went up to 1.7mb/s on that one.

Beats me. I download torrents regularly at over 10mbps.I turn on encryption in my torrent settings though. However I'm moving away from torrents and back to newsgroups.

im on BB50 and i get full speed, 4.X MB/S, if im downloading off private trackers where theres lots of seeds
u might want to turn on ur encryption in the bt client
