There better not be any wiseguy thieves trying making clay tablet iPad 3's to rip off stores. It's sick to hear what some people will do when they're greedy.

JesseBlue 03-17-2012 11:23 PM

simple thing to do is to put a store sticker on the plastic...so theyll know is really unopened

All for re-sell

FUCKK!!!! If only Apple had a no return policy :fullofwin::fullofwin:

Mark ups for the new iPad are sooo low right now, even in HK

.Renn.Sport 03-18-2012 01:18 AM

Fuck, how fucking stupid are you? you can still sell it anywhere in China with mark up.

And if you're talking about NA, theirs still mark up for idiots, learn your shit before you talk.

SkinnyPupp 03-18-2012 01:54 AM

I just checked out the new iPad in a store, at least I think I did. I couldn't tell at all, except it heavier*. Though that could have been in my head, I am pretty sure it was the new one. You can't really notice a difference unless you stare at it really close. But as more apps make use of the higher resolution, that has to change.

*They had this cheap matte screen protector installed on it, which is certainly why I couldn't tell the difference immediately. I never understood why someone would want to ruin their awesome display with a screen protector, and that is especially the case here.

The screen protector always degrade the quality of the screen, especially those $5 for 2 film from china. I also checked out the new iPad at "Ultimate" in HK. The new iPad is slightly heavier, the weight just like an iPad2 with a smart cover, hands get tired easily compared to my TF201. They are showing a demo with some so-call super HD video, it is sick and smooth. I'd buy one if I had a iPad1.

good fucking luck selling them in china with a mark up

every shop already stop taking the new ipads, even the so call "mark up" price is already cheaper than Apple's official price for the ipad2 in China

Samsung Semi should thank Apple for the $11 billion in component sales this year alone. They should also thank Sharp for allowing them to use the patents so they would even be allowed to manufacture this screen (one patent is credited to Apples LCD engineer who developed it while at Sharp and was also the person who solved the yield issues).

Yea, exactly. That's like saying you can thank Apple for the existence of the Galaxy Tab and HP Touchpad.. :smug:

This could not be truer. Considering how tough the glass is, putting a screen protector on the surface is just dumb.

I could instantly notice the heavier iPad, not so much the thickness. However the big differencne I could notice is the heat, the model was so warm. My iPad 2 never gets that warm.

I didn't get the screen protector on the ipad. But really considering it. Since my 6years old will use it once a while I don't feel confortable with him using it with no screen protector........

dangonay 03-18-2012 09:50 AM

^ My kids have been using my iPads and iPhones for the last couple years and they've held up very well. I'm more concerned about them dropping them onto a tile floor than scratching the screen (which is why they have cases).

Mr.HappySilp 03-18-2012 11:05 AM

LOL....

ppl marking up the price doesn't mean ppl can sell it... hey i can mark up my iphone for $1000 does that mean i'll make a profit off it? just cause ppl mark up you'll assume there's a market for it.. most store u can still walk in and buy it.. sure there's still a "SMALL MARKET" in china, but with the abundance of stock and the lack of ppl actually buying it for themselves.. whatever profit you make off it isn't even worth the time.

VK79 03-18-2012 06:06 PM

Walked into rc apple store and picked one up today at around 2.30pm (still had quite a few at the back according to the guy that served me). After spending 2+ hours with it I got a stinky feeling I might return it. Was expecting to be completely blow away like the transition from ip3->ip4 but was not. To make matters worse its heavier and gets hot a lot quicker. Guess I'll stick with my 1/2 till 4 comes out.

SkinnyPupp 03-18-2012 06:15 PM

Why would you expect to be blown away? It's basically the same thing with a higher DPI screen, which at the viewing distance of a tablet, means quite little...

LiquidTurbo 03-18-2012 07:37 PM

"blown away" lol. The only way that could happen if it was half as thin as the iPad 2.

Their's still a small mark up regardless. Mr. Resident Bullshitter is claiming their is no mark up since "everywhere" still has stock. Not saying that theirs a HUGE HUGE market but mark-ups are there(regardless if it's $1 CAD or 3000+ RMB)and you will earn profit in China but is it worth the time?

If I had a flight back to China within 24hr of release date, I'd bring back a few iPad 3's with me, why not? I'm 100% sure I'd get more than what I paid for it and I was going back anyways, no extra effort or cost.

I wish you really did bring back some new ipads. So I could laugh how retarded you were!

there would be no way you'd get more than what you paid for. it cost at least $4500HKD to buy the cheapest ipad in canada, and the buy back price for a 16GB Wifi is at best at $3900.

yea, losing $600 per unit is great profit! :heckno:

Acura604 03-18-2012 08:38 PM

bah..decided to sell the ipad 2.. sold for $340...keeping the ipad 3. love the retina.

Uhhh...$519 * 1.13 tax = $587 *6 = 3520 RMB

A quick search on TaoBao shows ALL iPad3's are selling above 3520 RMB..I really don't know where you're getting your info buddy...

I'm thinking you two are talking about different things. Honestea is talking buying from shops whereas Hyde is talking about selling to shops instead of directly to people

^ our tax is only 12% :joy:

and the exchange rate is more near 1:6.4
I'm not sure how to use this TaoBao website...but you're looking at least $3750+ RMB as your raw cost.
