| Assassins Creed III
It has been confirmed that AC3 will be released in Octoboer: Ubisoft Confirms Assassin's Creed III - PlayStation 3 News at IGN
And here is a "LEAKED" photo of the new character: Assassin's Creed III Main Character Leaked - PlayStation 3 News at IGN
AC3 will supposedly finish off Desmond's story. Since Brotherhood and Revelations were sequels to AC2.
I actually don't quite dig this new American Revolution theme.
What do you guys think? Are there any other AC fans on RS?

Hmm.... Not sure how this game will be like.
One amazing aspect I liked about the game was the fact that I could climb famous buildings and monuments
And US history isn't old and rich enough to have these cool structures.
I.ll assume that picture is just some quick work that isn't official or anything.
Cause they should modernize his outfit if he's going to be in that era. Posted via RS Mobile |

anyone else got bored of the ac series? after 4 games it seems repetitive, i think they need something new to make it interesting again.

Now I remember why I was disappointed when I read OP's "American Revolution" theme. It was "supposed" to take place in Feudal Japan!
Climbing one of these would be fun.
I still don't know what kind of cool buildings is the character expected to climb about within the American Revolution time period.
But at least the cover art helps. Still think it will be a cool game. Quote:

And in their defense, AC2, AC:B and AC:R were really all the same game
using the same game engine I think.
Big cash cow to make 3 games without really programming or developing anything new.
I expect bigger changes in AC3.

I thought it was Chinese? If you read the storyline on Wikipedia Ezio is supposed to travel to China...

first one was boring...2nd one was quite enjoyable.
I think a AC game in japan would be the biggest cliche...china would be cool but it makes more sense for desmond to revisit his ancestrial memories in chronological order so i'm happy with american revolution.
I agree that his outfit needs to change though

Now I got the first one on a Steam sale so I might give it another go, but it's hard to find time to play games lately ![Okay](images/smilies/okay.png) | Confused plot wise, or confused in what to do in the game?
(cause the plot is kinda confusing, or at least I was)
The first one was pretty fun, but got boring really fast, due to the lack of variety in the missions.
Overall, not a bad game to play to kickstart the series,
but if you've played a good deal of the second one, going back is probably not going to be as fun.
The sandbox experience and the free roam to climb anything is a fun experience.
First time for this kind of game when I played AC1.
The major problem was that the game was too repetitive.
Basically you have about 10 targets you have to assassinate.
So objective is to just go to a town. Climb all the watch towers to locate where the target is.
And then go kill him. Yes, while all the other games are somewhat like that,
the issue with AC1 was that you do it exactly the same way each and every assassination.
There's no criteria set up into the plot to create some variety.
So after the first 3 or 4 assassinations, most people are too bored to want to continue on. (I still finished it anyway)
AC2 made a bunch of changes. So it's a lot better. Better fighting, gameplay, story, side quests, etc.
The game didn't feel as linear or repetitive. I really enjoyed it.
AC:B is more or less the same game, but different location. Some new weapons and abilities.
Story line was good imo, and fun side quests.
I haven't found the time to play AC:R yet.
Played into about 10 mins when I first got it, and haven't touched it since.
Think it will be similar to the last 2 games, with some minor tweaks and upgrades like weapons and abilities.
AC3 should be a brand new game built from the ground up. Not some "overlay" like AC2/ACB/ACR.
I can't wait to see what's AC3 like.

I think AC is one of the more original games out there. Storyline is one of the more complete ones I have played and followed along. Ezio dies of old age at his hometown in the town square, not in china..

I skipped the first AC too. I played AC2 and AC:B, not AC:R yet. Still cleaning up AC:B with the sidequests, I find the plot pretty interesting. Especially when you try to get Full Sync, you really got to be strategic and creative in ACB.
Those AC3 pictures are BADASS

It only makes sense that assassin's creed III be set in the American revolution.
See the similarities?
Also, don't forget III is the last sequel for Desmond's franchise. There will be many more chapters/series to follow.
