Tastygo, Teambuy, Wagjag, Buytopia.

IMO they just get hella annoying after a while. There are some good deals sometimes though.

Everyone in this thread needs to read through this priceless advice:

Quote:
How to be thrifty like a rap mogul

Living like a rap star isn’t all about lavish yacht parties, flashy cars, champagne and bling. As Houston, Tex.-based rapper Slim Thug can attest, a savvy hustler knows how to “stack” (that is, accumulate funds).

In a new e-book, titled How to Survive in a Recession, Mr. Thug (née Stayve Jerome Thomas) doles out forthright financial advice, using language ribald enough to make your grandmother’s hair curl. He likens himself to a “black Suze Orman,” putting his own spin on basic, run-of-the-mill money-saving principles. For instance, while personal finance gurus like Ms. Orman preach against living beyond one’s means, Mr. Thug puts it this way: “Why would you buy expensive cars and chains if you still live with your momma? Get outta yo momma’s house!”

As the youngest of seven children raised by a single, working mother, Mr. Thug says he learned to be thrifty at a young age, and he never wants to find himself broke again. He carefully counts his Benjamins, in spite of the success of his 2005 debut album Already Platinum and despite collaborating with the likes of Beyoncé and Gwen Stefani.

“Going into the strip club to make it rain 5Gs ain’t ever profited my pockets,” he writes. Nope. This guy would rather make $5,000 trickle.

“I want to teach my people how to be more financially aware,” he says in the foreword of the book, noting that wasting money “is dumb. I want us to stop mismanaging and start stacking.... Oh, and I just wanted a book.”

According to his publisher, Di Angelo Publications, he has sold thousands of copies of How to Survive in a Recession within the first two weeks of its launch. Ms. Orman he is not – or at least, not yet. But there’s no denying Mr. Thug’s money tips are sound and make for entertaining reading.

Suze Orman vs. Slim Thug? We compare their advice:

On home ownership

SHE SAID...

“I want you to be comfortable, I want you to enjoy your house. But a smaller home that fits your needs means a more manageable mortgage, a lower property tax bill, lower utility costs, and likely less time and effort to maintain.”

HE SAID...

“The bigger the house, the more expensive your life is. You have water, electric, grass, pool – all that [excrement]* adds up.... Get what you need, nothing extra.”

On dining out

SHE SAID...

“If you go out to eat every week, go out to eat every other week. Just cut back a little bit, and you will save money.”

HE SAID...

“Those $200 meals add up.... Five days of dinner can turn into $4,000 a month. You end up with $4,000 worth of I’m-hungry-time – not a good look.”

On turning a profit

SHE SAID...

“If you have made a tidy profit and you believe the stock still may rise, you can sell 25 per cent of what you own.”

HE SAID...

“Never spend all your money to get high or drunk.... It ain’t worth it, unless you’re trying to spend your money to flip that [excrement] and get it back plus some.”

On sharing finances

SHE SAID...

“Just because one of you earns the paycheque doesn’t mean that person should lord over how the money is handled. Use your portion to fund a high-yield savings account.”

HE SAID...

“If your girl is saying ‘for us to be together you have to pay this, and pay that,’ then you’re paying for the relationship. You might as well get a prostitute, and then at least you can pick which [lady] you like.”

On prioritizing

SHE SAID...

“Pull out your three most recent bank and credit card statements, circle every charge or debit that is not a necessity, and ask yourself, ‘Can I eliminate this cost entirely?’ ”

HE SAID...

“Why would you buy some expensive-[rear end] rims and your car ain’t even worth that much? It doesn’t make sense. Rims don’t have a warranty on them.”

Quick question......... I'm in LA right now and will start heading back next week (driving, of course). I was wondering how much Crown Royal is back home. Damn, alcohol is cheap down here. Anyway, I don't drink anymore (Easy Does It), so have no idea how much things are. Costco sells a huge ass bottle of Crown Royal along with a good selection of wine. I know how much alcohol I can bring back, but not sure on prices.

I cannot bring back the 3 litre bottle of Crown Royal will have to settle for the mid size, LOL. It's a gift for a friend, btw.

I guess Oregon is the best place to get stuff, since no taxes.

BTW, since this is the "Frugal Shopper" thread, Costco in the US (California, maybe elsewhere as well) has Sandisk 32 gb Class 10 micro sd cards for 30 bucks - perfect for BlackVue.

If anyone else is looking for these london drugs has them for 29.99 this week aswell. But thats for the "Ultra" 30mb/s ones.

Amazon.ca is selling the "Extreme" 45mb/s ones for $43+ free shipping i went to staples and they happily honored the price match. These go for $150 regular price so def a good deal.

^ Wait...Staples will price match Amazon's prices???!
Are they anal about taking shipping into consideration (ie. price matching something that's under $25 and would normally need to pay for shipping)

It would have to be on amazon.CA though not the american amazon.

Im not sure about the shipping really lol i told him theres a cheaper price on amazon he told me to show him, i did, he tells me that there needs to be a shipping cost, i show him the big writing FREE SHIPPING and hes like aight.

Kinda surprised he did it too haha the future shop guy i went to was like nope no chance sorry because it ships out from a US retailer.

Just picked up a 32GB class10 @ london drugs for my Nikon D7000, the scary thing is even when you pop in the 32GB, it can still take about 500 pictures before the card is full -.-

lol.. no wonder my computer is having a hard time editing the images after my camera upgrade...

Was at Superstore yesterday checking out their coupon tearpads. They have a dollar off any IOGO product coupon this week. I mosey on down to the yogurt aisle and I find that they have 200mL bottle selling for $1.17. Sure enough, I get four of them and got all four for 17 cents each. That sht is really not bad.

The coupon expires in late December and the $1.17 is the regular price.

As usual, the coupons will be gone in a few days. Get them now and have fresh IOGO drinks for 17 cents!

The tearpad coupons only work at Loblaws stores. As far as I know, No Frills does not carry IOGO products.

Of course, I took a whole pile of them.......... frugal shopper move, LOLOLOLOL

One more.......... No Frills has Milk to GO for 88¢ each. Not a bad price, but as I got a couple this morning, the price is actually 65 cents!

Expires on March 17 of 2013!

This was the No Frills in Coquitlam (Dennis' No Frills). Not sure if this is the case for other locations. BTW, this is for the smaller bottle, not the large ones......... still a bargoon.
