Damn, waited for this day. In US, it's dollar days all year long........ mind you exchange rate is like......... yeah, so this is a smoking deal. Now if only McD's had freestyle machines.

AND, so long 7-Eleven and your watered down Big Gulps..........even though your 7th cup deal is pretty good (make 7th cup the biggest size Slurpee).

MG1 05-21-2016 08:56 AM

BBQ pork on sale at Price Smart. $3.99/lb. I went to Save On Foods at Bentall Centre yesterday and they matched the price. I m at the Price Smart at Metrotown right now and holy crap, why would anyone go to T&T or any other Asian market? This place is awesome. Lots of free underground parking. It's like T&T on steroids. The place is fairly new and very clean. Walk by seafood department and it doesn't smell like it does at Chong Lee. Really good bento and Chinese dishes. And, the Dim Sum!

I think I just found my go to place for anything Asian.

MG1 05-21-2016 01:48 PM

Damn, 7-Eleven has double stars promo on this long weekend. I purchased three cookies for $1.79 plus taxes along with a double big gulp and the drink ended up being free. Each cookie normally gets you a star. This weekend, including Victoria Day, they're worth two stars. Three of them gets you 6 plus the drink gets you another two stars, lol. Weird thing is, I only got one star for the drink. Anyway, you need to download the app. I always scan my Belly app when I'm at 7-Eleven, so another bonus. If you are into Slurpees they're also part of the star promo.

Did any of that make any sense?

Gerbs 05-21-2016 03:05 PM

I don' get it ^

MG1 05-21-2016 03:37 PM

Okay......... then. 7-Eleven has this app. Every time you buy a drink, whether it be a fountain drink, coffee, or Slurpee, you get the cashier to scan your app. Each drink is equivalent to one star. When you reach 7 stars, you get a free drink. They started to award stars for other items over the years, such as kabobs, pizza and cookies. Once in a while, they have promos like double stars. This long weekend happens to be one of those double star promotions.

Other times, they have freebies. Last week or maybe it was two weeks ago, they had free bag of chips. Other promos I've taken advantage of were free bottled pop, Coffee Crisp bars (regular size), Oh Henry bars, etc. All free for just happing the app on your smartphone. Sign up is free. In fact, they give you a freebie when you sign up. A sandwich or something like that. Other promos include deals on their deli products, like 2 for 1 deals. The app tells you what deals are on for that day/week/month.

Hope I explained it a little better this time around.

I posted this for others............ I know you get it.................... yes? Hee hee, hue hue, pew pew.

MG1 05-21-2016 07:55 PM

I'm not sure if they do that anymore?
I wonder if you have to ask now?

It's also Freebie Friday. Today, free 710mL can of Brisk Ice Tea with your 7-Eleven app. While supplies last - usually gone by noon.

Today is Gardenworks' Sunrise to Sunset Sale. Everything in store is 30% off. One day only. I showed up at 6:00 am and was the first customer, but within two minutes the place was pretty busy.

Saw a lot of really hot looking mums, so got a few. Some soaker hoses and hardware.

Near the exotic plants area I see a crowd of people. Upon closer inspection, it was a gaggle of Asians swarming the free doughnuts and coffee that were out on the table. I joined them and fit right in. Saw one C-Lai taking quite few. I think she was swallowing them, lol.

MG1 07-12-2016 09:58 PM

$2.99 bag of seeds, three months later...........

I'd say that was a good investment. Although, I don't like zucchini, the rest of the family and neighbours do. So far, two dozen of these puppies and more on the way. The plant grows like it was a weed. Just daily watering and in a planter that is above ground. I also have a blackberry bush that is crammed with juicy berries. Raspberries, now out of season, were out of this world, sweet and delicious. I've got neighbours coming over to garden in my back yard, lol. Garden gets nothing but sun from dawn till dusk.

Vegetable garden is a must if you're truly frugal.

MG1 07-13-2016 06:33 PM

Damn, after cutting back some leaves, and these leaves are huge, I found a few more zucchinis on steroids. One of them is over 20 inches long. Neighbour, who I gave a few to yesterday, baked zucchini loaf - Italian style. Oh my god, it's so good right out of the oven. Sprinkled with icing sugar, too. I hate zucchini, but the loaf........... my god. It's food from the heavens, lol.

B!tch 07-14-2016 01:56 PM

MG1: zucchini loaf maybe food from the heavens but chocolate zucchini loaf is food porn!

I am incredibly jealous. Growing up in North Burnaby we had a huge lot and my dad took over at least a third of the backyard as a garden. In addition to the garden we had 4 fruit trees. We grew everything! I was about 7 before I found out people bought veggies. Long before the hipsters started doing it we canned and froze our summer bounty for winter time.

MG1 07-15-2016 10:33 AM

Sun Rype Blue Label Apple Juice on sale at Superstore for 88 lucky cents each. Limit of 6, but at that price, I'm going back and forth, lol. Good till Feb of 17. Blue label, so legendary. BC goodness. At least I hope so.
