BBQ Pork on a sale at Price Smart again (until Thursday) $3.99/lb. I just thawed out and cooked the last of the ones I got during the last sale. Freezing did not affect the quality at all. Char Siu Dow Fu, FTMFW!

Anyway, the location at Metrotown had a few manager's special, deals. Kasugai (Made in Japan) rice cracker coated peanuts for 99 cents a bag! Damn good price. Soy sauce flavour only, but damn are those things good.

Went to Wholesale Club on Royal Oak and Kingsway. I haven't gone for quite some time, so decided to go today.

If you love corn, they are 25 cents each. US Bicolour with husks on. They had a tray for husks. I just peeled those suckers in no time flat. They were very fresh and on ice.

Got the usual shit from there, like Freybe's pepperoni sticks. They had some Oasis bottles of mango juice at half price - need to buy a flat of it.

Didn't even know that place still existed. I haven't been that neck of the woods in a while.

Rona on Kingsway near Knight is having a clearance sale. Most things are 40 to 50 % off.

Rent went up and they're going to close for good. Another case of land owner raising rent to get tenants out. Probably gonna develop the property.

Anyway, got a whole bunch of stuff. Going back with truck for some mouldings. They're 60% off.

I think I saw smoothie there..............

racerman88 08-27-2016 10:12 AM

Did they say when they were closing down by?

October 30th, I believe, so whatever is left (garbage) will be 70% off or more, lol.

gonna wait till then.

MG1 08-27-2016 04:48 PM

I was there again at around 3:30 pm. Still lots of stuff left. I saw one asian lady with her daughter struggling to load a brand new, Weber portable BBQ into their CRV. 40% off, so ended up being around 90 bucks with taxes.

Chemicals were 70% off. I got painting supplies and some TSP, Ramset nails, T-50 staples, etc. Basically stuff you always need that won't go bad, like glues, paints, etc.

Flip, Toro snow blowers, ftmfw! (inside joke).

I picked up a few mending plates - super sharp. Going to put them at the top of the perimeter fence to keep those fucking squirrels and racoons off the property. They'll be in for a surprise. Ouch!

Rona was picked pretty dry.

The BBQs that were left were sterling brand at 40% off. Even then, You can usually get great deals on webers, etc, when fall hits.

It's worth checking out if you need minor things, but it was mostly a gong-show on Saturday. Idiots have no concept of following parking rules.

Worth checking out on a weekday, for paint, maybe misc things, if it's along your way. Otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

MG1 09-02-2016 09:23 AM

Long weekend, which means double star points at 7 Eleven starting today till end of Monday.

Durrann 09-02-2016 10:26 AM

yeah not much left at Rona. I went couple days ago.
wanted this ice scraper for my car but it was pink...I wouldn't mind but it looked used

Sterling is a good brand. Made in Canada and I think they are the same as Broil King.

Had no issues using it.

When I went last week, there was a fair amount of lumber left. Bigger ones, like 2x10's, 2x12's and 4x4's. Lots of roofing material and concrete pavers, although they were getting low, too. Rebars and stuff most asians wouldn't know what to do with, lol.

Nine Inch Nails, ftw!......... yeah, got some of that for garden ties.

MG1 09-09-2016 08:44 AM

7 Eleven freebie Friday today. Free Big Cone ice cream. Basically a Drumstick, but made by Breyers. You need the app, of course, but they're pretty good.

Get 'Em before they're all gone. I just got mine now and there were lots left. Royal Oak and Kingsway.

I didn't even think of taking a photo, lol. Too busy enjoying the spectrum of flavours that I was enjoying. Free makes things taste that much better.

Definitely shopping at second hand stores and buying second hand cars really helps with keeping costs down!

Today is "Name your Price" Slurpee Day. You pay whatever you want for a Slurpee. 50¢ minimum for a large Slurpee. 100% goes toward Food Banks Canada. Every dollar donated provides $3.00 in meals.

SO, you cheap asses, here's your opportunity to give while saving. Having said that, this cheap ass Asian is going to pay double what a Slurpee is worth and not get one, because as a diabetic, one of those will put me in a coma, LOL.

I look at it as saving on giving. Just like Red Cross Canada recently sent me mail telling me my donation dollars are worth 6.5 times normal. Hell yeah, what a deal. I donated right away.

So, donating 100 dollars is like donating 650 dollars. The government has an agreement with the Red Cross. I believe it is only for previous donors and expires soon (as in tomorrow?). Not sure why I haven't posted it on RS. I believe RS members can make a difference.

Anyway, check out the link below. Instead of buying 6 iPhones for your dog, you can help out so many people in need.
