I did that three years ago when I was unemployed for about a year. It really does take a significant amount of time to collect up coupons for stacking... but I decided to go all out one time and ended up getting paid $4.87 to take $737.33 worth of merchandise.

My question to you is how did you scan such a long receipt? Fold, scan, repeat and paste together?

JesseBlue 03-15-2012 07:55 PM

there is an in store coupon for loreals shampoo for two bux off and a mail in one for another two bux...the are 2 for 5.98...

my wife grabbed six bottles...

also bought 3 quaker product (select) for a free 1.75l bottle of orange juice...had free product coupons for all 3 quaker products...some free mms too...and some other stuff so the store doesnt feel they were robbed...all in all was a total of a little less than 6 bux

dyan 03-15-2012 08:00 PM

Probably gonna grab some eggs today.. i heard oakridge was sold out? anyone confirm?

MG1 03-15-2012 08:11 PM

Chances of finding any are slim to none. Stores (usually) get their shipment in the morning. The Safeway on Hastings near Willingdon was out of eggs within two hours of getting their shipment. Best to phone ahead. Just in case your local safeway gets shipment at night. Open till midnight - still time left.

Also, to answer the another question, I did use my iPod Touch to get coupon. Hilarious, because all Safeways have free WiFi. All cashier needs is your Safeway Club Card and the PLU (code on coupon). If you don't have Safeway Card, I believe you can use one that you sign up for on the spot.

dyan 03-15-2012 10:48 PM

lol Thanks MG1. Got to safeway. Saw 3 packs left, but someone swapped the eggs so that there were medium eggs in the large container :fuuuuu:

Ended up not picking any up but meh, it was 5 min away.

MG1 03-18-2012 06:25 PM

Me went to Grandview location about an hour ago. No such coupon on the board. No Tic Tacs for cheap, either, LOL.

JesseBlue 03-19-2012 09:02 PM

i was at the coquitlam superstore last sat and my wife grabbed a few...thing with superstore is that they take out the coupon even its not expired

BaBiE_Bee 03-20-2012 07:42 AM

What is the usually procedure at Superstore when you want to price match the No Frills flyer? :) tia

Phozy 03-20-2012 02:15 PM

Note to self, superstore is generally cheaper than walmart. Went to walmart today to grab some vegetables and some meat, then went to superstore, and the pricess at superstore at cheaper. Not by much, but it adds up. Also, some days its no tax at superstore.

Yeah Superstore is cheaper for sure, but sometimes the quality of the fruits and veggies isn't as great at other stores or say your local neighborhood market, ie. Donalds Market.

definitely go to a local produce for fruits and veggies...much more for for a lower price...

edit...got another two resolve products....grand total of -$0.15 cents

Produce at Superstore sucks ass.........

No Frills is a little better. I like Donald's Market on Hastings. Kins Market is actually not bad. Prices are getting competitive. The produce section at the PoCo Walmart is very nice. The rest of Walmart, however, is not good. In fact, nothing at walmart is cheap anymore. Even their sale prices are horrible.

godwin 03-20-2012 10:18 PM

Donald's for Organics.. heck any grocery store on Commercial will have cheaper produce like Bluejay oranges than (Superstore/No Frills/T&T/Weston family chains). The only cheaper and decent produce from Weston family are items they can get in huge quantity.. ie celeries, carrots or huge bags of potatoes. No Frill's has to be a few cents cheaper than the rest of Weston because they are franchisee which pays to use the Weston supply chain.

A few Italian delis on the Drive have cheaper pasta than the Westons' too... you just have to watch closely.

^^ I saw Barilla pasta on sale for $1/ box at Superstore on Sunday - that's a really good deal for the good Italian pasta..

And yes, totally agree with MG1 for the quality of produce at No Frills and Donalds; love the cost savings at both places! I go to the Donalds on Hastings tho since it's like 2 mins from my house.

Tapioca 03-21-2012 10:19 AM

Donald's has developed a nice niche for itself as the friendly neighbourhood grocer with good produce and a great selection of organics. It's really the type of place that Choices or Capers (before they were bought out by Whole Foods) should have been.
