I hate to disappoint the B!tch, but I only purchased a flat of 12 tins. Expiry date on the luncheon meat is August 30, 2022. Even if I opened one every month........... Anyway, saw people buying 12 flats, which is the limit. WTF? Now that, my friends, is hoarding. But, as I recall, exactly one year ago, someone on RS explained what these people do with all that stuff. They send the stuff back to Asia where canned meat in some areas is very expensive and impossible to get. So, do you call it hoarding, B!tch?

I did get two flats of bottled water, however. I use them to water the flowers at my wife's final resting place. Water is turned off this time of the year at most cemeteries. I've been going to see her every day now for five years. I grow the most beautiful Dahlias in the Lower Mainland, along with a variety of roses and gladiolus. Irises and crocuses in the spring. Now that its winter, I rely on cut flowers from............. from.............. from........... COSTCO! Gawd, why the fuck am I trying to justify myself to that B!tch?

Anyway, god bless...............

Yeah, Spam is really salty. Great for Spam Musubi, but not great for anything else.

I use the luncheon meat when I make yakisoba/ramen. Fry it with mirepoix and over yakisoba, with shredded fried eggs and kizami nori (shredded seaweed) or aonori (flaked seaweed). Red picked ginger on the side. Oh, oh, oh............ forgot - I got some pickled plum paste the other day. Gotta go make some yakisoba today.

Hahaha...... just opened one up. Holiday Luncheon Meat is made here in Canada. Maple Leaf Foods.

As a kid, I remember they had Klik and Kam brand luncheon meat. I loved using the key to open the cans. My mom made sure I got to open the cans. Nowadays, Spam has them "easy-open" cans, taking all the fun out of opening the cans with the key.

When I prep the luncheon meat, I cut the meat in the can. All it takes is a butter knife. Even slices off the top part and then even slices down to the bottom from the lip. You can even dice them if you use a paring knife. Pull out slowly and be careful = perfectly diced luncheon meat. Save from having to use and wash the cutting board, lol.

Can say I've never purchased anything from Cobbs before. How much do 6 scones run?

If you've got an Amex, check your loadable offers. I have one for $5 off $20 purchase on mine.

Scones run about $2.x each and they have many original and creative flavours. But MG1, the loaf is actually were it's at ... they have a lot of healthy grain loafs with lots of seeds ... really good stuff and they are like >$5-6 each.

Anyone here use Revscene for a discount at Lordco? For a while now the account says must show a club card. Not sure where you get a card?

Can anyone recommend another account with a discount?

I have a level 7 discount at Lordco, but only under my name.

I do have another one that should not be shared publicly. PM sent.

Wow ... level 7 ... what does that translate to in terms of % off. I get 30-40% off regularly with my personal account and thought that was pretty damn good. I find that most clerks will give you a substantial discount if you just ask. But it does look like they can decide the % ... any Lordco insiders here want to anonymously give us some insider tips?

It’s not always a percentage amount. Some items are marked up a certain amount and like you said, the guy you deal with can give you a really good discount. Like a store manager. It pays to be a loyal and friendly customer.

And, it sounds like you have level 7 or close to. Plus, Lordco regular price is way more than anywhere else. Still, good place to get parts. Love supporting local.

So what's everyone got there eye on for black Friday?

Not part of BF sale but eyeing a Logitech wireless mechanical keyboard on sale.

Also curious about pricing on lg CX TVs, but probably not in the market for an OLED quite yet unless it's an amazing deal.

Indoor growing supplies lol

In regards to lordco, I have a hard time giving them and their sales associates any credit with how hard they fuck people. The worst are the clowns who ask for ID or proof of your membership in the account you’re trying to use, like just stfu and give me the discount.

I worked at lordco for a time when I was into building cars, I purchased an ACT stage 3 clutch for a friend with my employee discount

If you had walked in off the street and grabbed it off the shelf, brought it to the counter - $1150

If you got the slightest discount without a clue how the lordco system works - $870

With my employee discount? - $550

I remember they got all pissy when I special ordered an edelbrock intake manifold for a B18C5, the thing took so long to come I forgot I ordered it. When it finally arrived like 3 months later the manager tried to ring it up for me I was like lol bro, the motor in that car is already blown son, I ain’t buying that. Apperently it was non-returnable etc. Lol

So, what kind of Lordco salesperson were you?

Gave every Tom's Dick n' Harry that walked into the store a discount at the drop of a hat?

Just curious.

My 12-year-old Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP gave up the ghost after our last power outage earlier this week, so I'm looking for a new monitor.

Monitors with all the latest and greatest are frickin' expensive. I got the Dell for $450 back then (on sale from $700) and it had pretty much everything except a 10-bit IPS panel (the Dell had an 8-bit S-PVA panel), wide-gamut backlighting, and a hood relative to what else was available at the time.

Now the top-end monitors with all the fancy tech (4K, Mini-LED local dimming, HDR1000+ certification, Displayport 1.4, HDMI 2.1, 10-bit IPS panel, Freesync Premium Pro and/or G-Sync Ultimate, etc.) are running ... like $4000+? And they're impossible to find even with those prices.

Even dropping my wants to 4K, HDR600 cert, 8-bit+FRC IPS/VA panel, and Freesync Premium Pro/G-Sync Ultimate still looks like $1500-$2000 and stock is still extremely sparse.

That LG CX 48" OLED TV is looking mighty fine at $2000 relative to dedicated monitors (although OLED has its own caveats from what I've been reading).

Is this just a pandemic thing or have decent monitors just skyrocketed in price over the last decade?

What are your usages for?

We have so many options now from ultrawide, 8k, G-Sync... etc

The best way to determine the best option is to see your need, and your computer spec and go from there.

I'm using the LG 5k hooked to my MBP. As I don't do much gaming, so resolution and color accuracy is crucial for me, and the fact that it basically works as a hub for my MBP.

I went to Lordco today. I used an account with 30% to price out some rear Brake rotors and pads for an 04 Mazda 3 Sport wagon. $189 tax in for basic Lordco blanks and Raybestos pads. I walked out and went next door to Key2 Auto Parts (locally owned) and it was $125 tax in. And they were actually thankful I came in to give them the business. They often have lower prices than Canadian Tire for automotive paint as well.

Rock auto was cheaper but it felt good to support local.

Still enjoying free A&W large coffees all month. One location near me opens at 10am wtf. Talk about island time.

Just download the app and place the order when you arrive. Then go through the drive thru.
