I get my coffee at the A&W inside Lougheed Mall. Schoolhouse location when I'm fast charging at the station at Coquitlam Superstore parking lot. |
^ I tried an A&W coffee one time, it tasted like hot water ... am I missing something? Did I get a bad sample? |
Go again......... if it tastes like hot water again, say to them, "It's because I'm Jewish isn't it." Old joke. |
Never had an issue with the coffee. I will have to break the habit at the end of the month. |
K, based on MG1 advice, I went back to A&W for a coffee, it was free so what is there to lose, right? It was terrible ... absolutely no coffee flavour whatsoever. If you don't mind A&W coffee (or if you even say you 'like' it), have you tried McD's coffee ... that is great affordable coffee, smooth, nice flavour. In fact, I prefer that over SB any day and all day. |
Good. I thought maybe you had Covid symptoms - no sense of taste or smell. I agree McD’s coffee is better than most of the cheap coffees out there. I never figured out what’s so great about SB coffee. 7-Eleven, Timmy Ho’s, A&W, Wendy’s, etc. cofffee’s are all in the same category. I’m not a coffee drinker. I like coffee in my creamer. Lol. I also don’t claim to be a connoisseur. I do like Iced Frappuccino. |
Free fountain drink with purchase using app and only at A&W locations in a mall. On till the 6th of December. A bit of a pain and not good if you don’t like any of their burgers. You have to put in code:BlackFriday. If you’re in Metrotown or Lougheed Mall, it might be worth it? It didn’t speficy what size. Most likely medium. |

Usages are many. Gaming obviously. Spreadsheets and lots of them. Programming (mainly GCL+). Multiple inputs is a must (GF and I have our desks side-by-side, so she uses it as a second display for her iMac Retina 5K 27" for graphic design/photoediting when I'm not using it; she's a freelance graphic designer ... thus the requirement for good colour accuracy). Adjustable stand (or VESA mounting) so it can be rotated and adjusted as needed. USB hub is nice to have. Since the Dell went down, I've been using my even older Sony MFM-HT75W monitor from 2005, which looks actually surprisingly good for a 15-year-old monitor (better than my 3-year-old work monitor) but the low resolution (1280x768) just kills productivity. Computer spec: Core i7 6700k Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI Mobo 64 GB DDR4 @ 2133 MHz GeForce GTX 1070 Silverstone 850W PSU 1 TB Sandisk SSD 2 TB WD Black HDD 2 TB WD Green HDD 1 TB WD Black HDD Probably going to upgrade Boxing Day if the new Ryzen 5000 CPUs and RTX 3000/Radeon 6000 GPUs are actually available (likely Ryzen 7 5800X and RTX 3080/Radeon 6800 XT) |
Bath and Body Works is having their Annual Black Friday, Buy 3 get 3 sale. Entire store's inventory. Usually only Black Friday, but because of Covid, it's on all week. I've been there twice already. You can use their $10 off coupon, if you have it. New members only. Also get a coupon after each purchase. I thought only kinky chicks liked this stuff (Superfreak - Prince reference). I must be getting in touch with my feminine side.... Anyway, I like their car fragrances. They have sample/testers. I really like the Gingham and Linen (subtle scents). You have to buy holders along with the scent pods. https://www.bathandbodyworks.com/c/h.../car-fragrance On line on US website only. They do ship, but they also have locations at Pacific Centre, Metrotown, Coquitlam Centre, Guliford, etc. Don't know why no products on Canadian website. Anyway, most of what's on the US website is available here. |
Anybody getting the Tim Horton's 6 donut promo with Uber Eats? Just for today, $0.60 for the donuts + taxes and delivery fee. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/tim-...ts-sixty-cents |
Biggest Spend your Points event of the year at Shoppers, starting tomorrow. $250.00 in points gets you $400.00 in merchandise. That's an extra $150. All those Optimum Points from No Frills and Superstore you earn pays off at Shoppers. Electronics, condoms, feminine hygiene products, you name it. Exceptions would be things like meds, gift cards, lottery tickets, and bus passes. Can't buy that much groceries, even for a hoarder, but electronics, like computers, laptops, game consoles, games, televisions, etc. Remember, not all stores carry games and game consoles. Check out what's on sale at Shoppers this week below. Even more bang for the buck....... Also, I believe it's one time use even though the offer is on till December 2nd. Spoiler! |
Free medium fries at McDonald’s with minimum $1.00 via app. Two days only. Take that, Toronto Raptors. Lol |

I wish I could use the 50% off McFlurry ($2) coupon combined with free Medium fry. One can dream. |
Two Egg McMuffins for $5.00 and $1.00 coffee is still on. At least that's what I hear on the radio. Ends on the 6th of December, IIRC. https://www4.mcdonalds.ca/mccafe_eng/ I'm lovin' it, when they state, "at participating McDonald's restaurants across Canada, except Quebec." Because they're not part of Canada!!!!! Gulolol |

Quebec has different laws regarding promotions. While they do tend to lose out on many good promos and contests as a result, they do also have much better consumer protections, too. Double-edged sword. |

At least the gift card promo is on now. Minimum $25.00 gift card, get voucher for free Big Mac or 1/2 dozen doughnuts. Used my Amazon card to pay for it (5% cash back). I give one to each of my kids as a stocking stuffer. They know they’re getting it. Has become a family joke. Can be banked on, lol. I always ask for the gold coloured ones. The rest suck monkey balls. |

A monitor can be great at many things, but usually have to sacrifice on others. For gaming, you want something with 120hz display and ideally G-Sync compatible. But from what I can see, those won't be very good for graphic design where color accuracy can be critical in many cases. The best middle ground that you should look for are IPS Freesync based panels. But I believe most of them max out at 10bit color and that might be a problem for graphic works as I believe they work mostly with 13/14bits for at least near 99% Adobe RGB coverage. My recommendation would be to either take the shortfalls of these options, or just buy budget models for each purpose. |
Was at Walmart yesterday. Saw a Sodastream Genesis for $49.00. I already have a nice one, but second machine, plus CO2 cartridge and bottle. A CO2 cartridge is like $40.00, so why not? Long story short, I found out the bottle has to be screwed in. I really like the snap lock feature on mine. So, I returned it. Turns out every Tom’s Dick n Harry has the Fizzi model on sale for $69.97. The Fizzi has snap lock and looks sleek. Went to No Tax Day at Superstore, got points using the PC World Elite card. Got gas getting more points - shop plus fill thing. I love love my auto setting Soundstream, but sometimes, having manual control is better. Sparkling apple juice, for example. Plus, no need to plug it in like my automatic Sodastream. |
why doesn't anybody ever post awesome oatmeal deals? |

That's it, I'm gonna start a new thread on RS for older folk like you and me. |
https://www.globalkitchenjapan.com Not sure if the new member 10% coupon can be stacked with the Black Friday/Cyber Monday 15% off promo. Interesting stuff, nonetheless. I should have got my nakiri knife here. |
