It's like tomato sauce and canned soup. Just put some water in there, shake it around and get the rest out

K, be straight up, you haven't ever done a load of laundry in your life, right? That sounded like a man giving a pregnant woman advice on childbirth.

When you add water to laundry detergent and shake it around, what happens?

WD-40 02-08-2021 03:21 PM

Just cut the container near the opening and scrape the rest out.

Yep, I do this with my salad dressing as well. Gotta get Every. Last. Drop.

Milk not water! Nightmares of being a poor child and my mom making Tomato soup and hot chocolate with water instead of milk. :)

If you haven't been making Tomato Soup with Milk you need to try it, much better.

Went into McDonald’s on Still Creek. Ordered $1.00 coffee at the kiosk. It let me pick XL for a buck. I guess too many people complained??

Anyway..................

Oh, got the virtual sticker for scanning code and the sticker on the cup. Win! Thanks, lilaznviper.

TouringTeg 02-09-2021 08:06 PM

A heads up about this round of Circle K coupons. There is a limited amount to be redeemed before they are “All claimed”.

MG1 02-10-2021 01:19 PM

I’m at ironwood McDonald’s and their coffee is $1 for medium coffee, $1.25 for large, and $1.50 for X large. I guess they’re a franchise. Anyway, I had a craving for “World Famous,” fries. Got out the survey coupon - Buy a sandwich and get medium fries and fountain drink for free. Girl asks manager for help, as she’s never seen the voucher before. Manager asks what sandwich I want. Fillet O’ Fish, I tells him. He tells girl promo it. I didn’t get my fries or drink but got the Fillet O’ Fish for free. No argument here, lol. It tastes so much better when it’s free.

Charging car, while here. First hour free. Damn, free is so good. Slow charger, but what the hell? It’s not like I’m in any hurry to go anywhere, lol. I hear gas prices are up again.

punkwax 02-10-2021 03:23 PM

MG1, will you please stay the fuck at home? There’s a pandemic out there and RS is concerned for you.

There, I finally said it. Had to get it off my chest. :D

Side note: I haven’t had a filet o’fish for over 20 years and now I’m craving one.. next time I hit McD’s, filet it is!

I do that with EVERYTHING. Shampoo, Soap, Detergent, Ketchup, etc.
Who else rolls the tube of toothpaste for maximum gain? Haha my wife is like wtf just get a new tube. So when it gets near the end we have 2 tubes on the counter. Her brand new one and my mangled twisted tube. I can usually get another good week of use from the moment she wanted to toss it.

No, Save-On points are the worst of the worst.

Optimum, hands down, is the best value as far as rewards points go. Very little effort involved. Combine the 20X points events at Shoppers Drug Mart with the "Spend Your Points" events, it's insane how much value you get back per dollar spent.

I used to go nuts over Save-On More Points (decades of collecting), until I did the math. Right now, I have maybe $350.00 worth of travel dollars. Don't ask how many decades that took me. In one year of Optimum points, I average $1000.00. That's straight $1000.00 worth of points. Use that with the spend your points events at Shoppers and it's incroyable.

Now that Shoppers has game consoles, games, electronics, etc. it's really worth it. Example, the 20X points event is like 30% off. Where else can you get a Nintendo Switch game or a Playstation Game for 30% off? It's in points, but when you purchase a game using those same points during the Spend Your Points events, you get even more value. The usual spend your points is, buy $300.00 worth of merchandise for $200.00 worth of points = $100.00 savings. I also earn a lot of points at No Frills and Superstore. Plus, I get points using my PC World Elite Mastercard.

Any of you guys apply for the PC Money card and account? I thought it was a good move, but it's such a freaking cumbersome and awkward system. I went back to using Simplii. I can't pay my AMEX card with the PC Money account. It says it's an American company. FFS, it's an American Express Canada issued card. I have no issues paying with the Simplii account. I can't pdf my transactions. Just some of the weird glitches with the way they do stuff. I call them and they give the excuse of it being a young company. Right. Don't fucking roll out something if you can't get the simplest things worked out. It seems the whole system was designed by high school drop outs /rant.

But aren't the prices for the items at Shoppers actually quite a bit higher than other stores? So they kind of make it back whilst giving out the better points rewards?

Get the tube roll up thing from Oomomo. You slide the bottom of the tube into this thing that has a wind up mechanism. So convenient.

Well things like NintendoSwitch games and consoles are the same everywhere. You do need to know your prices of other things. When stuff goes on sale at Shoppers, they’re pretty good. I only spend my points on electronic games.

MG1 02-10-2021 06:49 PM

I was searching the Oomomo website for the tube squeezers. No luck. That website is so lame. Anyway, they're cheaper than the one I got from that store Hondaracer describes as, the place that sells overpriced junk to yuppies, gulolol.

So, this is what I'm using to squeeze the shit out of my tubes............

Damn, you really care...................??? I'm touched.

Fillet O' Fish or cumburger as we used to call it in school was a helluva lot bigger back in those days. Now they are so small. Still, that soft bun and sauce......... so good.

Also, I was at the Still Creek McDicks. Their coffee is back to being a buck for medium only.

On a really off to the side, note........ does anybody else hear McDicks in those ads where they advertise the McPicks deals?

punkwax 02-11-2021 05:50 AM

^ the concern is real. As is the hankering for a filet o’fish.

Maybe I’ll just make some tartar sauce. Just like Big Macs, all about the sauce IMO.

1. You don't shake it like a Polaroid picture. You think you're Outkast?

2. After you mix the water in, just leave the bottle for the next wash. Yay, no bubbles.

I just use the flat edge of a comb and push, with the tube on a flat surface.

If you have to purchase a gadget to be frugal, then you fail the frugality test.

First commandment: Thou shall not spend money in order to save money. You must be able to do so with what you already have.

i don't use that roller thing; when i'm done with toothpaste, i cut it in half with scissors and then use it till last drop.
