So, I couldn't wait for Dollar Drink Days to start............ went to Circle K at Production and purchased their 99¢ fountain drink. I was charged more than just the taxes. I was like WTF? Dude says it's a cup charge. I was like okay, so if I bring back the cup next time, I won't be charged again for the cup? In a thick accent he says, yes. Well fast forward a few days, I remembered to take the cup with me. I fill it up and go to pay for it. Dude, looks like the same guy.......... says, no charge. We only charge for the cup. Not arguing. Also, food prices have gone up 10 to 30% due to gas pries and everything else. If you're planning on BBQing this weekend, Safeway has Prime Rib steaks and roast for $8.99/lb. Not the best cut, but for $8.99/lb, who cares? Superstore usually match prices. Costco has Grimms Bavarian Smokies on sale as well as potato salad. Anyway, this thread needs a bump once in a while.............. Addendum: Corn on the cob for 50¢ each (10 for $5.00) at Thrifty Foods. Price match at Superstore or No Frills. I can't believe Walmart doesn't price match anymore. Oh, Save-On-Foods price matches. Trader Joe's Carolina Gold sauce on cobs in BBQ, ftmfw! |
Tubs of Potato Salad are back on sale at Costco. $6.49. Can't beat this deal. And the Rotisserie Chicken is still at $7.99. They have to be selling at a loss at this point for that. Just insane. |
I only buy the Red Potato Salad when they go on sale at Costco. I can't finish it by myself, but having family over for a BBQ, no problemo. Any leftover, I offer it to them. Just like the Azuma Seaweed Salad....... can't justify it unless it's on sale, gulolol, which they were not that long ago. . |
Was on my way to pick up some corn at Thrifty Foods in Port Moody. 10 for $5.00. I called them and was told they didn't get any in. I went to No Frills where they had some really nice ones. I picked out ten of the best and went to pay for them. I tell the girl, it's a price match. She sees the ad and pulls out a calculator. I ask her why? She goes, I need to find out how much they are each....................... WOW!!!! I told her they would be 50¢ each. She goes, "You're right." As for the steaks, I went to the Safeway in Burquitlam. None left. Only the roast. I was like when will you cut some more........ we won't get any until Sunday. I was going to get the roast and cut it into steaks. I thought better and just went to Superstore. Asked the lady at the meat department and she goes, "No can do." I phone the Safeway at Kensington Square and girl who answered the phone goes, "We have plenty. We'll be cutting them all day long." Burquitlam is a huge store. What the hell? Can't wait for BBQ. Only time the whole family comes over for dinner. Now to get some large mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions........... Weather going to be good. When's the last time the weather cooperated on a long weekend? Oh, got a side of wild sockeye I have to prep. Miso marinate or maybe maple/teriyaki. |
If you haven't bought your steak yet, Save On has their striploin (it's not bad) on sale for $7.99 per lb (regular: $19.99 per lb). 4 days only May 19-22. |
Yup, it was a toss up between striploin or prime rib for a dollar more. Maybe vacuum pack 'em, freeze, and sous vide later. |
Hey MG1, how about a together with some of the older members? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I wouldn't mind a Squint Lake mini meet again. I still have the RS Holy Grill. People are pretty busy these days. I'm retired with lots of time on my hands, but most RS members have kids now. |
surprised you still have the grill lol |

FYI Dollarama had these Meguiars Water Magnet towels for $4 each They are usually $19 @ Canadian Tire. Great towels, suck up a ton of water when drying. Read good reviews about the Turtle Wax ones as well, will give them a try, they are massive. Also $4. https://i.postimg.cc/gc54272C/20220701-103006.jpg |

How long ago and did you clean them out of inventory? Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
This was today. Grandview corners location in South Surrey. I didn't totally clear them out, they have more. Check your local Dollarama, they are sure to have stock. |
Now show us the Ferrari being frugal at the dollar store. |
Prime Rib Steaks on sale at Superstore. $8.99/lb. I'm celebrating a belated Canada Day on Sunday. BBQ. |
Found two Meguiar's Water Magnet at the Coquitlam location. They had a shitload of the Turtle Wax micro. $4.00 is their regular price for the towels. Dollarama is very popular for a reason. Wonder Bread is cheaper than Superstore at $2.25. Starbucks double espresso and fraps are cheaper than most places. Just to name a couple of examples. |

All of a sudden I’m getting tonnes of push notifications from Amazon. Is it because Prime Day is approaching? I must have activated deal alerts or something by mistake. |
Just realized this is where I should have posted this. My Moscrop senior girls volleyball team will be selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts on Saturday, July 16 at Metrotown skytrain station to raise money for new volleyball jerseys, hoodies and tournament fees. 1 box of dozen is $12 and two boxes for $20 It would be cool to see some of your nice rides coming by that day. Come down Beresford so you can park. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...041a78386b.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I’ll have to buy two boxes to save two bucks. Damnit. Do they freeze well? Lol. |

I freeze my boxes right away then eat them over two weeks straight out of freezer cold for dessert. You can microwave them for 5-10s but I prefer them frozen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
