Old garage door opener remote replacement? So one of our remotes for our garage door opener has stopped working (changed batteries and still doesn't work). We have a super old Lynx 455 garage door opener from the '80s. We weren't planning on changing the garage door opener for another year or two so just wanted to buy a new remote. Seems like most univeral remotes are not compatible with our garage door opener...they all seem to require the unit to have either a "learn" button or DIP swithes to match the code, but my garage door opener has neither...any suggestions? |
The remote I got from Home Depot had a sheet that listed a ton of different openers and the jumpers to set for them in the remote. |
^Do you remember which model? Then ones I saw did not list my model of garage opener unfortunately. |
there are some kits that have a remote and receiver. the receiver connects to the terminals of the wall push button or at the opener. |
Can't you just get a remote still with the jumpers and just change the jumper settings to the same as your remote that's not working? (Assuming you guys never messed around with the jumpers) or you can just change the jumper setting on the motor itself and match it on your new remote |
This one worked with my late 80s/early 90's opener. Skylink Universal Mini Keychain Remote Control | Canadian Tire |
