BMW e46 subframe issues Has anybody here had to pay to get their subframe fixed? Cost? I also heard that a few people were getting it repaired for free through BMW if their reasons/complaints were good enough. How would getting it repaired through BMW compare to say getting it done by CG motorsports? Anybody have experience on their repairs? |
I thought it mostly just happened with the M3s? If you can get BMW to pay for it, I'd try hard for that! You'll have to pay CG to do it no matter what. Probably other places will do it as well. |
It was an issue with the early E46s - 1999 to 2000. I would first try to get it repaired by BMW. There have been quite a few people who have successful gotten their floors replaced by BMW. After all, there's a class action lawsuit that was settled in the US. If yours hasn't cracked yet and if you want piece of mind, there are a couple of options: - Tuner Motorsport reinforcement plates. $140 for the plates + labour to get them welded (you're probably looking at 10-12 hours labour) - Nixon does reinforcements for about $1900. |
I would highly recommend getting it done at speed syndicate they charge only $1,100 total With reinforcement kit Also Curtis is an amazing welder |
I went with the Tuner Motorsports reinforcement plates and got it installed at DHP for $1000 including parts. By far the best price in the lower mainland |
