Anyone have any idea what material most OEM parts are made out of???

Hey guys,

Anyone have any idea what material most OEM parts are made out of???

Sorry for the rather dumb question but I'm pretty curious about this and I can't find the answer anywhere.
From what I've gathered the three main materials are carbon fiber, fiberglass, and poly urethane.
Can anyone fill me in?
I'm pretty new to RS btw haha.

I don't see any OEM thermostats or alternators made of carbon fiber or fiberglass.

What parts are you looking for? And for your information, most parts won't be made out of carbon fiber....

If you're referring to interior parts, I'd say mainly PVC (and maybe PET?) plastic.

For mechanical parts and body, I'd say different grades of aluminum, steel, and other alloys as they see fit.

Depends on the car, if it's an import, the bodies are usually made from already rusting metal.
