Buy a Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa. It's still a Maserati, so you will look cool. It's cheap, so you won't feel too bad when you total it. And it's rare, so you won;t have to wade through a sea of BMWs in the parking lot looking for yours!
Edit: I wasn't joking. Maintenance might be a bitch, but hey, at least it's really cheap to start with. If I could afford the maintenance, I'd drive one over most of your list. Hell, want something cool? There's a ton of 15-year old plus Alpinas in Japan on the cheap. You can't convince me that's not cool. There's a ton of nice stuff I could get if my parents gave me a 50k budget, or more, and even have a pile of cash left over.

Any new car will be a big upgrade on your old corolla. You don't need an $80,000 car to upgrade from an old corolla.

maybe you should start off with like a acura el 1.7? lexus is300.. or something? then work your way up to a more expensive car later on..?
new driver.. wouldn't be good getting into an accident with an expensive car. you can't guarantee that you won't get into one..
don't spoil yourself just yet! just sayin... but i mean if you really do have the money to keep up a nice car, gas $$, repair $$, insurance $$, by all means go buy yourself an m3 and show it off to your friends....
you'll prob get pulled over few times for looking young in a car like that.. cops like to do that lol

Buy the black STI swirly edition, perfect to learn manual on!
In all fairness, I learned how to drive/observe in a saab, corolla, jetta, echo hatchback, impreza.
Only recently did I buy my own osm car with my own money, a black(white) sti, keep in mind im only 20, So i cant pay cash, lucky you. The sudden jump of power from 80-170 to 305 was exhilarating, at the same time frightening. You will wrap your torso around a pole in a month if you start driving in a c63, thing doesnt have traction until 4th gear . my STI spins out if i turn accel too fast out of a corner, and its AWD with 300, whats going to happen with 460 on tap only to the rears?
tl:dr: OP wants monster car, claims to not be rich. Posted via RS Mobile |

WOAH WOAH WOAH! EVERYBODY CHILL THE FUUUUUUCK OUT!
can't you all see that this kid has been driving his mothers corolla for the past,,,, iuno... 2 months! He's been driving that PoS since he got his license!@@@@
give him a fucking break!
he thinks he can upgrade to a C63/M3, and you know what?
with 2 months of driving experience, i definitely think he is capable of doing it!
Encourage your mom who drives a corolla to buy YOU a M3! or BRZ, or whatever the fuck it is you want!

Learn to drive a stick.
One of my bigger regrets: my first car was an automatic (Acura EL! woot woot)
Learn to drive a manual on a cheaper car where you can trash a clutch or two or stall out without looking too sheepish. THEN you can upgrade to an M3
Imagine how embarassing it'd be rolling backwards on a slope in an M3.... or stalling out in a left turn lane.
Do it on a cheap car. Figure everything out, then upgrade.

So the corolla is your parents? They can afford to buy you a $70k+ car?
why dont you take the corolla off their hands SO your parents can get a new car and be a GOOD son...
Get a good education, then a good job and Thank your parents for NOT getting you a $70k+ first car!

Get a good education, then a good job and Thank your parents for NOT getting you a $70k+ first car! | I second this. My mom and i could not afford to keep our old car (2000 echo) when we upgraded to 2006 passat, you defiantly have the luxury to take your parents old car out of their hands so do so, your parents if they have that sort of cash for you deserve something of their own. If i was your parent and i saw this thread i would not even buy you a car and force you to bus because of your spoiled ignorant attitude.

I dont agree with any of this kids choices of first cars but I dont assume his parents are bad for his taste in cars.
Secondly were most of you bad drivers and crashed all your first cars? Must have been to asssume he will do the same.
There is some sound advice here tho. I recomend against every car you listed. your a new driver and as such dont need a fast car thats gonna have you inclined to speed and loose your new licence you also cant have to many passengers in your car so why not get a little two seater car?
A smart car (new) , a nice MR2 (cool and sporty), a CRX (you can mod on the cheap), an old beetle (no pretentious bitches gettin in).

Giving your child a car isn't a bad thing, but giving them an expensive car makes no sense. I think parents that do this do it partly for themselves as a show of wealth - a very asian thing to do so its the asian kids you see driving nicer cars.
Other reasons could maybe be as a reward for getting EXCEPTIONAL marks or getting into a Med program or something like that. But to give a nice car to a teenager still in high school is silly.
If the kid asks for a nice car and the parents give in that could also be poor decision making on their part even if their only intentions are to make their kid happy.
Most of those cars have traction and stability control and lots of other electronics to keep the driver safe but when you take a high powered car around a corner too fast your inexperience can still hurt you.
OP should try taking the bus or getting the corolla even for just a bit longer before getting any car worth more than $30k.
Or from your list go with the BRZ. Its not too pretentious and you'll become a better driver and actually appreciate cars instead of showing off your BMW and thinking you are impressing anyone.

Just a thought.

My first car was a Chrysler Lebaron, and it was awesome. I blew the engine, and the transmission, being a dumb teenager. Backed up into a stump by accident on my prom night, got high centered in a ditch thinking I was cool and playing around on a back road in the snow, and generally had normal teenager shit happen to it.
I'd hate to see what would have happened if my first car was anything that you listed.
Every teen that I saw get a TT Stealth/3KGT totalled it other than me (3rd year driving and I paid for it. Maybe some of that helped).
A friend of mine crashed and he was fine... his passengers not so much. He put one of his best friends into a coma.
