Only read the first page, but I can say for most people, they often get quite bored of their first car fast. Within a year or two.
I would say get something cheap, then when you graduate high school or at least become a sophomore you could ask your parents then to upgrade your ride.
Stay safe, you're not the only one on this site who has wealthy parents (and no I don't).
Welcome to RevScene.

Hey OP, I just want to point out that driving a corolla is nth to be ashamed about... Seriously, what's wrong with it? I drive a corolla and I love it... Granted not for it's driving dynamics, but hey.. I think it beats out translinks pretty handedly... I am sure our family have very different financial capabilities, but you should be grateful, I have to buy my first car which was the corolla when I got my license...
And btw did you take my advice and have taken your question to vansky yet? Seriously not trolling lol
/end rant hahaha

Regardless, I wouldn't want to see an inexperienced driver with 300+hp car on public roads. Call me selfish, but give this kid an M3 and I'd want to stay as far away from it as humanly possible.

OP i think you need to get a POS first car, learn to appreciate it, then move on once you kick the living shit out of your first car...

Such haters on RS. He's just asking for car advice. I admit I'm jealous too, but who cares if his parents buy him a car. They can afford it, they love their son, they worked hard for it. Unfortunately most of us don't have that luxury but that doesn't mean we can't give him an opinion on what car to go with.
Fuck if I had money, I'd probably buy my kid a 3 series if I could afford it. That make me a bad parent that I worked hard to take care of my family?
Your own parents probably think you're spoiled because you can even AFFORD a car now. Back in your parents age they probably walked , rode a bicycle, drove a tractor to get anywhere. And the asian kids....mannnn your grandparents probably came on a fucking boat to work on the railroad for 12+ hours a day for shit pay. Does that make them shitty parents to your parents for not wanting to subject their kids to the same treatment?
Point is. We all work hard to make money to enjoy and make life easier for the future.
Like we all say, we live in a superficial city of expensive ass property, clothes, purses and cars. 3 series/c class is like the new Civic. Times change.
Finaldestiny>>> If you're family is buying the car for them to use also I wouldn't suggest the M3 or C63. If you're not "made of money" like you say remember gas is expensive now and is estimated to go up to $1.80/L. That's like $2/L for premium. A C63 will end up costing like $140 to get you 300-400 kms. Most people drive about 2000-3000kms/month. So like $1400 for gas alone + insurance and maintenance.
Also luxury cars are not known to be reliable. If you're "buying" the car, expect there to be alot of expensive maintenance and repairs around the 3-4 year range. Your car will depreciated 50-60%.
I don't know your family situation and how they are financially. Parents will make sacrafices for their kids, but as a kid that loves their parents sometimes its best not to exploit them and "milk" them for the most expensive thing they'll buy. Especially if your family is not as you say "made of money".
My opinion is to get the G37. Seems like a good first car out of all the choices. It'll be the most cost effective, reliable, and use less gas I think.

First, I agree with the general consensus that OP should get a cheaper car. However, it is unfair to judge OP's parents and simply label them as "bad" parents because they want to buy a car for their son. Why do parents work so hard in the first place? A main reason is for their children. Parents love their children and want them to be happy. They put food on the table, and want the best for their children within their limits.
Different people, different lives. I don't see a problem, or the need to hate on OP and his parents for buying him a 3 series/C series, or even up to M3/C63. For his parents who are quite wealthy, these cars could be the equivalent to a Civic/Mazda3/Lancer/Impreza etc. It is his parent's money, and they can do whatever they want with it. It could be safety reasons, or it could be image. Like another poster mentioned above, his parents may care about "face", and it looks bad if they cannot even afford a car for their son.
If OP came in and asked for advice on buying a cheaper car paid by parents, the responses would probably be different. The problem is the price isn't the only issue. To KWY, Parents buying their children a cheaper car, lets say around $25g~ like civic si, Mazda3, Lancer, Impreza, etc, doesn't mean they will automatically appreciate it. Some will, while others will complain. This all goes back to parenting. It depends on the environment, and how the child was taught/disciplined while growing up. In my opinion, the best way for teenagers to learn that they have to earn what they want is through a job. You can also argue that teenagers getting $25g~ cars from parents are spoiled as well. What have they done to earn a $25g~ car? We don't know, and this applies to OP as well. No 17-18 year old can afford these cars without some type of financial help from family.
To OP, you chose the wrong forum to ask for this kind of advice. I can see all you wanted was some advice, but instead got flamed. Like Cman333 said, find out the financial position of your family. Don't buy such an expensive car if it will stress your family out financially. On the other hand, if your family is balling, then go ahead and choose the car you like. Drive safe, and I hope you don't become one of those cocky teenagers that look down on people that drive cheaper/beater cars.
