G35 gas mileage

For all the g35 owners on here, how many kms are you getting on a full tank and what yr is your car?

I'm a fairly new g35 owner and i have an 04 and i recently filled up with 60 litres and i'm almost near empty driving only 310 kms. I do all city driving and i don't drive hard. The most i've gotten out of a tank is around 370 kms. Are all g35's that bad on gas or is something wrong with mine? I recently changed all the spark plugs to ngk iridium hoping it would improve gas mileage but i noticed no benefit.

I have a 2005 G coupe in triptonic. I get approx 415 kms on a full tank. I always fill up on Supreme gas and half my driving is on the highway.

Seems like a typical G35, my gf has a g37 sedan and she'll get about 380-400 km per tank in the city driving sensibly.

I love the stock exhaust from a G35 so I could sacrifice paying more for gas.

don't know how much different 350z and G35 makes. GF's 03 350z gets 580-610km 90% highway.

Just to give you an idea of that car's gas consumption... My friends G35x sedan gets around 350kms per tank all city. He fills it when the low gas indicator comes on.

ya, i'm getting around 350km city driving and mines a coupe. i like the car but just hate how shitty the gas mileage is. my previous car was a v8 benz and i could get 400 kms filling up the same amount of litres. i thought i would be getting better gas mileage downgrading to a v6 but i was wrong.

There ate tonnes of cars that have more HP and get much more mileage. The VQ engine is just a pig.

I have a 2004 G coupe with triptonic. I get around 500-530 kms on a full tank (with 91). 70% of my driving is highway.

But yea, they're gas guzzlers...I just didn't really notice it as much cuz my previous car was a V6 4wd SUV.

when I bought my coupe back in 07, all city driving I used to get between 400-500km to the tank, now I'm getting just over 300km, and I don't drive aggressively at all, in the last year I've taken it past 3k rpm maybe three times tops.

What you need is a ecu reflash to re calibrate a few things, there are a bunch of good tools you will find on http://g35driver.com/forums/

I'm currently looking at doing the same thing before summer myself, shops like Speed Syndicate will be able to do the actual flash for you

Looks like my gas mileage is the norm, not the exception, which is kinda reassuring...i guess lol.

Hey G-Spec, if you end up getting a ecu reflash let me know how it turns out and if it improved your gas mileage. I would be interested in doing it if it works.

yea i wont be getting it done until summer since that's when I'll be really driving the car every single day, last few months it's been pretty much a weekend car at best.

just go on g35driver and do some research on it, you will find a lot of useful info there on the subject

Gas Mileage of 2012 Infiniti G37

It compares 2002 BMW 745i 4.4litre v8 with 329 hp with the identical gas mileage.

So I'd say it's just a lack of engineering.

I swear all Nissan/Infiniti vehicles get worse gas mileage on average than any other company.

My Moms 05 G35X gets about 375-400kms to a full tank of 92 (Full tank ~100)
My Dads 08 G35X gets about 390-410kms to a tank of 92 Still about ~100 to fill.

For reference my 03 E55 averages about 375KM to a tank and its about 100$ to fill.

Neither of them drive it hard, its interesting that a 5.4 supercharged V8 gets about the same mileage as a 3.5L V6 AWD (3500lbs G vs 4000lbs E55)

More available torque at lower rpms will get you better mpg.
