I'm surprised you haven't said anyting about your new plans yet Rob
Cuz I don't even know what plan i'm going with....
Ok, so I have this idea that if I go drifting in this car, I don't want to rebuild the 1/4 panels if I tap a wall.....
So I took what I know about building bumpers that survive short course racing....My truck bumpers are original, and I have personally destroyed or bent at least 3-4 rear bumpers from people in front of me
And applied it to this car, with a touch of hot rod, and a dash of concealment....

Slow and painful....but getting somewhere. I picked up some non rusty doors so that's why the overspray on the door. Still some work to do at the bottom around the rocker panel, but these 1/4's have been plaguing me since the beginning and I needed to get them smoothed and primed.
Quick update....been driving it, been smoothing 1/4 panels, and finally got some flares on.....pic is in grayscale to take away from the distraction of primer and paint on the car. Still a bunch more fitting, and trimming of the flares but its nice to not see so much tire!
I just made a deal on this tonight....
450hp /415ftlbs Toyota 2UZ out of a desert race truck. This one is fresh, the class it was in was a spec class, so it has a low compression ratio, and they had a rev limit of 6000rpm. The motor builder said there is lots more power if you could spin it to 7000. These motors were $20,000 each when new.....I got 2.5 of them for a song....
I will change it back to EFI and run a Haltech on it. Should be fun!!!
