Are they as big as the ones in the photo?

Personally, I've never seen any as big as the ones in the photo here in Vancouver. But if you have, good for you.

So yeah.

Emailed this guy asking what paint he used
Quote:
The paint is made by performix and its good from -20 to 50 degrees so weather will not affect the paint.
Google'd performix and the first thing that comes up is the plastidip website, at least he's being honest

LOL I legitimately called this company because I want to get my interior trims and my side mirrors wrapped in a brushed aluminum finish.

I called the first guy from their Facebook page and he had a hard time speaking. Talked to me for about 15 minutes about pricing when I simply wanted to know if they could get it done. At the end of the conversation he tells me that I should talk to his partner to see if it's possible to get it down.

So I call the partner, and he has a harder time speaking English. Quotes me $50 more than the first guy and says that he will book me in for an appointment. Then I ask him again, "so we can get the brushed aluminum done right?" And he responds with "what's aluminum?" I explained to him again what it was and he tells me that "black is better."

Needless to say, I won't be getting my side mirrors wrapped anytime soon lol.

How do palm trees survive in Vancouver? An uneducated person asks. (like me)

Yahoo answers.. How do palm trees survive in Vancouver? - Yahoo! Answers

the palms in vancouver are special. they are called windmill palms and are probably thr heardiest trunking palm trees in the world! most palms are considered stricly tropical, but people have has luck with this palm in cape cod on the east coast, and the southern tip of alaska on the west coast. these palms can survive temperatures to 20 degrees with ease! they are cold tollerant to 5 degrees, but with some extra protection like a wall, southern exposure, and burlap you can get them to survive down to 0 or evn negative 5 fahrenheit. windmill palms are completly adapted to frost, and snow cover at least once a year in its natural habitat in china.

their are at least a dozen other pals that are commonly caled "hardy palms"

these palms inculde the o so common sabal palm, particlarly the sabal minor which is a dwarf and has blue leaves. hardy down to 0.

the needle palm has large thorns on its trunk and can survive to -10 fahrenheit with a little protection and down to 0 with no leaf damage when an adult. you can find small needle palms in the nyc botanical garden unprotected all year eve when temps get below 15 degrees. also in the brooklyn botanical gardens their is a windmill palm that is outside that recieves protection every year, but can survive the winters without protection.

type in hardy palm trees on a google or yahoo search and you will get lot of stories about people growing palms and bananas as well as other tropicals in very cold climates such as utah, contettiut, western washingtion, even some in illonis, michingan, new jersey, virginia beach, washingtion dc, and oregon.

here is a list of "cold hardy palms"

pindo palm
mazari palm
windmill palm
wagners windmill palm
needle palm
sabal minor
sabal palmetto
true date palm
sago palm
judean date palm
bule medditeranean fan palm
medditeranean fan palm
california fan palm
mexican fan palm
and probably some more!!!

also their are currently over 10 palms in vancouver. they started planting them for a tropical effect on the leate 80s and vancouver may be consdered the florida of canada despite its relatively cool and snowy winters.

The guy's a moron; look at the power wash he's using and look at the distance between the nozzle and the car.

I'll chime in on the palm tree conversation.

We've have about 3 palm trees in our yard. In the summer they look great, in the winter I put a lot of effort into taking care of them (including keep them wrapped up and heated with flood lights.)

The problem with this ad is that, by reading instructional videos and maybe doing one job, they think they are ready. They can't even give a straight quote, let alone a price to compete.

I don't want to discriminate against myself (being asian and all), but not speaking english properly and trying to do business with it broken is beyond the scope of my understanding.

If you're charging the exact same price as MM design, why not just let them do the job? SUPERCAR ONLY IMAGINABLE (japanese katakana/hirgana in no particular order because only imaginable)

I for one can vouch for Plastidip. It's become a common DIY in the automotive world. Haters gonna hate, I bought a set of Rotas for my new car and I wasn't about to drop $300 on Powder for rims that are worth around double that. Used 4-5 cans of White Plastidip along with 2 cans of Krylon Clear and went to town. It is easy to remove if you want to but its a lot harder with the clear and a lot easier to wash too. I wouldn't recommend not clearing the white. Black is fine, however. The finish is very textured because of the clear and if it messes up, I can easily just to the playing card trick and redo the rim. Total investment was $65 and its reversible. Can't go wrong. And that guy with the G is an idiot. You can easily rip this stuff off, power washing was just excessive. Peeling plasti is like peeling dead skin after your sub burnt. Gross picture but its exactly how it is.

Colour used to be like this:
