Even though it's no contract chances are they won't sell to you if you're not an existing AT&T customer.

I've gotten phones from Bellingham BestBuy before. But as always they probably won't sell it to you outright when it first comes out.

Also I'm pretty sure we'll be getting the the Pebble Blue as well. Samsung Canada was demo-ing both the blue and white S III's to Future Shop.

Myself and others have been turned down before in the past and Simplex123 says he was able to so it's probably YMMV just like it is here. But obviously they're going to want to sell to to existing customers first since it's way more beneficial to them.

Can you download movies (torrent and the like) from android phones and play them right off it without any type of conversion?

CP.AR 06-06-2012 10:22 PM

^ yup
download a good player (I use BS Player personally) and you can read pretty much any file format.
So far I've done MKV, MP4, MOV, AVI, pretty much anything i threw at it and it's been good

Galaxy Nexus by the way

MXPlayer can play pretty much anything you throw at it, and it's free as well. Subtitles and everything. I think Samsung's stock video player plays everything as well, less extra functions

DanHibiki 06-06-2012 10:40 PM

^one of the reasons i would buy this phone is for the pop-up play feature but since it only works on the default video player then it's kinda useless.

hopefully ppl hack it to make it work with youtube/netflix/etc.?

even mkv?

!MiKrofT 06-07-2012 09:41 AM

+1 for MXPlayer. I haven't tried it on MKV yet but it is supported.

CP.AR 06-07-2012 09:49 AM

^ Does MX Player do fullscreen on Galaxy Nexus? (ie: takes away the nav bar automatically)

One thing I don't get though.. How come their variants of the Note/S3 have the same specs as the international version yet still be able to handle LTE? Is their LTE different than ours?

Alatar 06-09-2012 12:27 AM

Read the article. Extra LTE chip, 0.4mm thicker than the regular S3.

Nevermind. It is a Exynos 4412. The international version is 4212.

Simplex123 06-09-2012 08:16 PM

WTF? Their tap to top is actually a PHYSICAL tap not a tap on the notification bar

asian_XL 06-11-2012 06:41 AM
