lte is the 2gb ram version right?

guess im going with quadcore and selling my ipod touch :D

3klipze 06-27-2012 09:13 PM

In comparison , with my friends intenational version the 2GB lte offset the quad core. Unless u are a developer and would like the extra processing power then it would be better to get the dual core LTE for the better battery life

edit: sgs3 with case is still thinner than my iphone 3gs without a case..

terkan 06-27-2012 10:43 PM

tbh... quad core vs dual core isn't that big of a deal for everyday user like us.. when you hold the phone in your hand.. regardless you gonna say wow it's really fast and snappy. sure LTE is good but unless you are on rogers.. most area don't even have LTE coverage atm... so prolly best to just get whichever one you can get the best deal for imo

Araaadi 06-27-2012 11:19 PM

picked mine up earlier today. Love it so far, time for me to call bell retention for a 6gb lte data plan. Wish me luck!

unit 06-28-2012 07:59 AM

unless you really care that much about the audio or the quad core, i'd say get the LTE version because its a night and day difference compared to 3g or hspa+
i live in richmond and its usually on lte and sometimes shows 4g.

sonick 06-28-2012 08:02 AM

omg I want this phone so bad.

Although I find it kind of annoying that the carriers with LTE all only have basic data plans of 100/500/1GB. What's the point of such fast speeds if you're limited to such little data? Hopefully I can get Telus Retentions to get me a bigger data plan.

unit 06-28-2012 08:13 AM

i just signed onto 6gb with rogers yday for $30

at first they said they didnt have it then i told them that one of their CSRs a few weeks ago mentioned it to me.

the guy put me on hold for 3m then came back and said yes they can offer it to me.

sonick 06-28-2012 08:19 AM

That's via retentions, right? I was looking at new customer plans for the Big 3 but neither of them had standard data plans (i.e. not data upgrades on top of data plans) over 1GB.

I'll try to do the same move with Telus retentions saying a CSR a few weeks ago mentioned it.

unit 06-28-2012 08:43 AM

not retentions
if they are able to give 6GB at all, then its available.
whether they advertise it or like to give it out or not is a different story.

sonick 06-28-2012 08:55 AM

ooooh found the RFD thread on it, thanks!

I know its an LTE phone, but did they give you the LTE 6gbs? Reason being, I want to change my current 6gb to LTE for no cost extra. Last time I asked they said 2gb LTE for $30.

Still sounds hit or miss, no official promo code or name.

You can change it at no cost. I recently did it when i switch from my iphone 4 to note LTE. They basically cancelled my 6gig and applied the 6gig LTE onto my plan.

From mobile syrups review,

And occasionally audio apps would close of their own volition after a few minutes, often mid-song and without prompting. I hope this is a software issue that can be corrected in a future update because it became very frustrating very quickly.

The s2 when it was released had a similar issue and it took 8 months to fix. For this reason alone I won't be buying the phone until I hear its fixed.

Sounds good. But did you have a data credit, and were they able to keep that? And did they extend your data contract for another 3yrs?

I didn't have any data credits and they didn't extend my contract for just adding lte. Tell them you're looking at buying a LTE phone and ask them if your plan is capable. I just acted stupid and they said we'll change it to LTE so that when you do get a LTE phone you are good to go.

I have a Bell S3 in Blue, looking to trade for a White or sell for Retail.

yeah they didnt even really mention anything about LTE, i just asked for my existing data plan to go up to 6gb, and they eventually said ok.
lte was working all along for me.

tool001 06-28-2012 12:56 PM

just ordered white, 16gb (co-operate plan), was told its on back order.

Vancouver_M5 06-28-2012 01:07 PM

Specs wise the One X is better, so i guess its just a preference of interface, sense ui or touchwiz, personally i would probably go with samsung only because thy are a good brand and i trust them more than i do htc, but im sure they're both awsome.

3klipze 06-28-2012 01:12 PM

With rogers I asked about the switch over to LTE and they honored it without hesitation. It's a hit or miss. He said the promotion wasn't actually available right now . Just have to get lucky with your CSR

3klipze 06-28-2012 02:50 PM

I'm surprised that the only available ram is at 1.62GB

Is everyone else getting that as well ? Just wondering

edit : nvm me failed to use google.

Gh0stRider 06-28-2012 03:05 PM

kelvin you caved and got it? hah
