Never thought I would consider leaving iPhone for Android, but all these latest Android phones all seem great.

Had mine for about 4 days now, coming up from a Blackberry. Took a while to get used to, but loving it so far. No complaints here.

Ouch. Replacements are going to be expensive. The glass and digitizer are fused together so you're looking easily over $200 for that piece.

They're also rare since its a new phone. eBay is your best bet now.

The official samsung flip case is garbage.
I love it and all but the quality is complete shit

it peels and stains really easily.

The border peels and fell off and looks like complete shit. You can see the layers of what it is made of lol.

Going to return the case tomorrow.

Samsung Store in Hong Kong quoted me $30cdn for the battery cover. $150cdn for the screen. Parts only, so good luck

Just buy a new one, and return the old one like two weeks later citing the same issue.

Samsung Galaxy S3 cracked case problems - News - Know Your Mobile

Quote:

Published on Jul 20, 2012

The Samsung Galaxy S3's casing is starting to crack, according to a number of sources.

Recent figures show the Galaxy S3 is one of the most popular phones on the current market, achieving record sales. But some owners might be a little disappointed with their purchase as it might start splitting in places.

One of our main gripes with the Galaxy S3 was the quality of materials used for the body shell as it felt cheap.

The thing is, Samsung usually uses plastics which hold up well to wear and tear even if they have a questionable feel to them, in our criticism of the cheap feeling back body we never actually thought it’d break apart under normal use.

According to tech news site Tweakers, Samsung is now aware of the problem and is currently investigating. The company has also promised to replace any handsets affected by this problem. Users who reported the problem said the phones had developed these cracks under normal use and they seem to occur on the sides and bottom of the handset.

Samsung isn’t the first manufacturer to experience problems with cracking bodyshells on its premium devices. When the HTC One S launched reports came in that its aluminium shell was flaking off in some instances, though HTC moved quickly to deal with the problem and it hasn’t become more widespread since.
picking up my phone tomorrow, anyone having issues with their case?

Battery life on mine isn't too bad. I have everything turned off unless I need to use it(data, wifi ...etc) and powersaver on and mine will last me a good chunk of the day most of the time. Keep in mind I don't make a lot of calls throughout the day, but am quite a heavy texter.

penner2k 07-20-2012 06:09 PM

I guess my phone is tough as fuck cuz I've dropped it multiple times onto concrete floors at work and its just a little scratched

BrRsn 07-20-2012 10:22 PM

Is there any big advantage of the quad core S3 over the dual core S3? I'm due for a contract renewal + upgrade and thinking of going with the S3 from rogers (dual core). Thoughts anyone?

Ch28 07-20-2012 11:38 PM

Quad has no LTE

PornMaster 07-21-2012 12:04 AM

2gb ram makes up for it

quad core drains a hell a lot more battery

insomniac 07-22-2012 11:22 AM

What launchers are you guys using?

Ch28 07-22-2012 02:14 PM

Nova launcher
