Nova launcher as well. Has anyone actually flashed anything on their north american variants yet? Curious to see some feedback on the existing roms out there as there doesn't seem to be a huge variety to choose from

tool001 07-22-2012 05:11 PM

ordered 2 cases off ebay

1)
Black Hard PC Soft TPU Gel Molded Case Cover For Samsung Galaxy S 3 III i9300 | eBay

and

2)
NEW Black gel TPU cover case for SAMSUNG Galaxy S3 III i9300 | eBay

1 is quite decent, good build quality and has grips on either side. and plastic on the edges is matt.

good fit and back is hard plastic, but translucent

Haven't flashed anything yet because everything out there is still a work in progress with bugs.

hold off until AOSP/KP roms are set

Yeah thats what i'm trying to hold off on but I see all these "modified" touchwiz roms out there that claim better battery life and whatnot so I was wondering if anyone has tried those

Anyone know where I can buy an unlocked dual core (LTE) S3 that will work on Fido? Prefer new in box

Found this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-SGH-I747-Unlocked-Warranty/dp/B008MC3N34/ref=sr_1_12?s=mobile&ie=UTF8&qid=1343072026&sr=1-12&keywords=s3+4gbut not 100% sure it'll work ... anyone confirm?

bakasam 07-23-2012 11:40 AM

You can just purchase an unlock code from cellunlocker. Was able to do it for mine and a couple friends did the same and were all on different carriers

Costs $15 through them. Does anyone have a cheaper price?

hold home button and open task manager clear ram to close all programs

leaving programs on will drain battery.

also you have to break in the battery my battery life improved dramatically after 2nd day use

!MiKrofT 07-23-2012 07:08 PM

Task managers do nothing for Android. In fact they probably cause more battery usage than save it.

So basically closing all those apps is useless? :suspicious:

Android Task Killers Explained: What They Do and Why You Shouldn't Use Them

PornMaster 07-24-2012 12:00 AM

they are talking about 3rd party task killers.

Use the one built in the OS.

BTW turn off all the gimics because they drain battery like shit. S Voice activation motion control etc

Android doesn't have a task killer. The one you see is from Samsung touchwiz and it's still not necessary.

PornMaster 07-24-2012 12:57 AM

I mean use it to clear ram not kill tasks

-EuroRSN- 07-24-2012 01:29 AM

Guys total newb question but why do alot of apps start by them selves especially right after when i turn them off. Getting annoying and whats the best way to root the phone. All this bloatware needs to be gone.

Araaadi 07-24-2012 01:36 AM

^^ I need help with that too, I have a POOP folder with all the stock apps that are useless to me.

My battery life has been pretty bad aswell, my s2 was a lot better and it only lasted a day.
I am trying to blame the LTE but it would be nice to have a phone that lasted the whole day.
