Damn! My phone just said my micro sd card is damaged. I never had this problem on my S3 before. I've updated to JB with Samsung Kies. Not even having it for 24 hours, my card craps out on me.

It was running fine. And I decided to do a restart on my phone. When it booted back up, it said it was damaged. And asked me if I wanted to format. I've restarted a few time after I've upgraded. But this is the first time I've seen this.

Anyone else had this problem?

Luckily it's mostly music and some pics and vids. I've backed most of them up before. Also, I'm running a Patriot 32gb class 10 micro sdhc from NCIX. Don't know if that makes a difference...

I'm going to format the file system to NTFS. Hopefully I won't have this problem again!

*EDIT*
Nevermind, the phone doesn't recognize NTFS.

I try tried to update via Kies but I keep get a message saying "Insufficient disk's space of 3000MB." I have 9GB space left on my phone, so frustrating.

I just want my damn jellybean update!!!

Hey guys need help.

GF just got a SG3 that was on Bell and she got it unlocked but for some reason she cannot get it to work with FIDO's network for LTE.

She already got a lte micro sim from Fido and all the settings are correct.

When you say correct, is the apn set at LTEMOBILE.APN?

fido-app1-core.apn is NOT LTE. You need to use ltemobile.apn for LTE, if its not there, add it manually. All the other parameters are the same as fido-app1-core.apn. Just the name must be ltemobile.apn

Seems I am getting a common battery drain issue with the MEDIA process (android.process.media). Upon every reboot it launches and sucks down battery at an alarming rate. Have to go in and Force Close manually each time I reboot. Trying to figure out what the issue is so I don't have to go in and force close each time.

For anybody who installed the Leaked OTA Jelly Bean Update, you won't be able to install the new update OTA or via Kies.

xda-developers - View Single Post - Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean [No Flashing, No Rooting Required]

has instructions on how to install the new firmware via Odin. It's quite painless.

Got the Google Voice Search 'voice response' working.

Had to download an app in the app store to change the phone locale to English US, and then set the Google Voice Search settings to use English US. Didn't require Root.

Odd, I can't get a signal without LTE being turned on. If I run it in GSM mode only I get nothing.

Do you know the name in the app store by any chance?

Loving Jelly Bean, but my battery is worse than being on ICS.

sonick 12-04-2012 02:14 PM

Check if you have a 'MEDIA' app running in the background. The upgrade somehow corrupted a file causing the MEDIA (android.process.media) to run continuously sucking down power.

I had to clear out my files and now battery consumption seems to have subsided quite a bit.

Also if you had your LTE off before, JB no longer has WCDMA/GSM Auto Mode, it's either LTE/WCDMA/GSM or WCDMA or GSM.

Haven't upgraded yet. Which files did you clear out?

You are probably using a Bell/Telus phone. Can you still just stick with 3G/HSPA+ only and switch to LTE whenever I feel like it? Or is it just LTE or 2G only?

sonick 12-04-2012 02:58 PM

Not sure which was causing it, but I just backed up my data, cleared out my internal storage, and restored all my necessary data files. Seems to have fixed it; this morning my battery went down 3 percent from 100% in like 5 minutes. Now it went down 4% in 50 mins with mild usage.

If I do WCDMA only, it sticks to 4G (I think that's HSPA+?).

mb_ 12-04-2012 04:22 PM

My battery went to total shit - was down to 1% after like 9 hours with moderate usage lol

vash13 12-04-2012 04:37 PM

Check what is running in the background through application manager.

Android System was 24% when I checked.. Did sonick's suggestion, I'll found out tomorrow if it worked

possible solution to the problem: The "media" bug is for those who have SDcards. Try formatting the card

PS: be sure to back up first!

Also: Google now is constantly searching your location for updating its information.

Yea you can just turn it off tho but then you can't use Google Now which is what the JB update was mostly for. Guess you can't get the best of both worlds.
