Did a speedtest: 9.89mbps download 2.87mbps upload |
I guess if you're getting around 10mbps its LTE. I just got into the Android game recently plus LTE game LOL. Anyone know how to find out what ROM you're using? I know im using cm10, are there different kinds? So much to learn... |
LTE speeds for me range from 15mbps to almost 60mbps This is with the Fido network. |

There's only one CM10. However, people sometimes will take a CM10 base, and add their own touches. They will name it something else, so that you don't get confused with "stock" CM10. There are a ton of ROMs, especially for our phone. The only way to find the best is to try them all and see what works best for you. But CM10 is probably the closest thing to AOSP you'll get on our phone (except NexusMod ROMs). |
I found out I got CM10.0.0 stable. I guess thats the latest verison of CM10 and stable one? I got the phone from a friend and was playing with it all day long trying to figure things out. Fiddled with the settings and stuff but obviously the detail android stuff I won't have any knowledge about. |
Anybody know how to set up the settings where when you recieve something on your phone, theres a notification that lights up your screen? It seems like mine only vibrates and has a notification light. In short terms, kinda like iphone |

May I ask why you would want to do that? I have my LED flash a different colour for each different notification, so I know what came in without having the screen turn on. And if you receive a ton of stuff on an hourly basis, that's a lot of screen time dedicated to just notifying you (and thus, battery life). To each their own I suppose. |
There's a setting on that ROM to manually override LEDs, look for it! |

Anyone help me out with unlocking the S3? I bought a code from cellphoneunlocker but none of the input methods work?
Quote:
The code to check phone's network lock/unlock status doesn't work, and input method's 2,3,4 don't work. The message I keep getting is that it's an 'incorrect MMI or connection error' Help? |
I consistently get over 20mb on LTE with fido. :fullofwin: |

Posted via RS Mobile
Old habits die hard from iPhone. Sometimes if texts me like "where are you" then I see it but I was busy and can't reply yet and just don't even bother to unlock my phone and just shove it back in my pocket. I'm not used to the LED thing yet, I would rather have the screen flick on rather than the LED. Just me :) |

^ wicked ping there lol. But you aren't on LTE so you won't see the speeds that some of us are getting. Either you have an international model phone or your plan isn't LTE enabled or your APN settings aren't set correctly. |

But if you have trouble, LightFlow will do the trick. |

im thinking of getting away from stock rom, and installing AOKP or other, am i right in assuming that i would lose the motion option that comes with stock s3 (turning ringer off by turning the phone upside down. right swipe on contact to make a call/left to sms ,,etc) ? U guys know of any new TW based rom |

I've been looking for a TW ROM as well, but tbh rooted stock is hard to get away from for me. I just want the damn clock in the middle, and extended power menu. Over the break I may take apart the stock rom and add my own personal touches since what I want are very minor. Of course by virtue of stating it I won't get around to it :fullofwin: |

(ROM)12/9 Bertiespeed TW ICS & JB (TELUS Based) - xda-developers ROM - (Stock TW JB) JellyBean747 Milestone 7 Graystone Edition - xda-developers But tbh, they don't look too polished (i.e. they have stuff added but it looks like they're still working out kinks). If you're not looking for anything specific, just stick to TW+root. |
Hey guys, Just checked back a few pages and couldn't really find anything to help me out: I want out of Rogers and on to Wind. Don't care about LTE right now, I just want an Android, specifically a GS3. They've dropped in price on ebay etc, but in my extensive research I've learned there are MANY variants of the GS3, specifically the international i9300 version versus the US/CAN versions. And even in the US the Sprint and T-mobile versions are different. Can I buy any version and have it unlocked and work on Wind? Or does it have to be originally from a specific carrier? Another thing that appeals to me is Cyanogenmod, which gives you Jellybean 4.2 (?) and access to basically everything that is on the Nexus 4, including the photosphere camera etc. But apparently it can only be installed on the i9300 which has a quadcore processor. They are still quite expensive. Would it be worth getting this phone, would I notice a difference if I had them side by side? Keep in mind, I'm moving out of an iphone 4 (not 4S) so anything will be faster I realize, but I want to make the right choice. I realize I could wait for the GS4, but who knows for sure when it would come out, and frankly, I'm sick of my iphone, and my expensive Rogers plan. |
