^i tried unlocking my android thats locked to rogers recently and they told me that any rogers, bell, fido, telus phone cannot be unlocked to wind or mobilicity unfortunately, if you want to have a phone that works with wind you have to buy it with their carrier. |

If you want 3g you have to get the Wind/Mobo/T-Mobile version. |
Been having battery issues on my sg3 lately, I turn off wifi when im at work with minimum usage and by the end of the day it would be pretty much dead. Are they any apps I can download to prolonged the battery life before I get it checked? Thanks |

If you're on the new JB OTA update there was a "Media" bug that caused battery drain. Most apps that "manage battery life" end up being more harm than good. |
Ok, so after doing more research, it seems as though the international 9305 model is the latest and best; 4.1 out of the box, quad-core, LTE ready, 2 GB RAM. I'm looking at moving to Wind, and I'm aware they don't have LTE yet. But I would like the phone to last me a couple years, so I figure I should get the best model. The downside is, they still go for $600-700 on ebay and amazon. Versus the standard NA model, which go for $400-500. I like the idea that it has Jelly Bean 4.1, but I'm not against rooting the phone as I will buy one and not do a contract deal. Should I go for the international phone for the extra $, and have the speed? Or will I even notice? Can I buy a normal NA phone and root it and run CM10, or does it have to be a special model? |
That LTE isn't compatible with any of our North American networks. Posted via RS Mobile |
If you want LTE, you'll have to get the i747 (NA) but only has dual core If you want quad core, you'll have to get i9300 but you lose out on LTE If you want a Wind/Mobilicity phone you'd wanna get a t999 which has neither LTE or quad core I9305 is only for Korea I personally have the i747 variant which also has 2GB of RAM. I can live with a dual core, haven't ran into anything that would make me wish I got a quad core instead. And I'm in LTE coverage 99% of the time. Posted via RS Mobile |
Interesting...are you running it stock or have you rooted the phone to get CM10? I'd prefer the monthly savings with Wind over faster internet speeds with Rogers. My only wish now is to be able to mod and optimize the device with the latest software |
Rooted and running AOKP (based of CM10) |
Question for you guys, if I root my S3 and there's an update, it will erase everything and unroot my phone? I was reading what mr_chin was saying about how he can't update without losing all his data because his S3 is rooted? |

I updated to jelly bean and decided to disable LTE and just use 4g mostly. My battery life has at least doubled . I come home from work now with 75 percent battery left where as before it would be 30 - 40 percent. I just now need to find a widget that makes switching lte off easier. 4g is still plenty fast for most things . |
Has anyone rooted their device while on ICS and attempted an OTA update to jelly bean? Will all the Rogers app return? I used Titanium Backup to remove those Rogers apps. |

That said, worst case scenerio you need to reroot and remove them again. Not so bad since JB is a worthwhile upgrade. |
I updated to jb last night on wind Mobile. My notifications LED indicator does not work in any circumstance now. Tried restarting, uncheck/checked all the items with no luck. Is this a known issue? Anyone else having this problem? Posted via RS Mobile |

It's worth checking if you're on blocking mode. If you are, turn it off and see if that works. |
I am using a T999 on JB and my led indicator works fine. |

Don't know if anyone's already said anything but Fido now has the LTE S3 for sale. Posted via RS Mobile |
I broke the sim card reader on my s3.. The pins moved and all. The phone is 2 weeks old. You guys think rogers will replace it? Or should i just get it repaired? |

anyone had any issues with LTE tethering? I can tether with the internet.com apn. But when I switch to ltemobile.apn, I can't seem to tether. If I turn off LTE and continue to use ltemobile.apn, it will tether on 3g/H+ Does anyone know of a fix to tether over LTE? I installed FoxFi and it's the same result, no tethering over LTE, but it works fine over 3g/H+. TIA |

Can you send me a screenshot of the APN settings? I'm using slimbean custom rom. Also, I'm on a 6gb data plan I signed up for 2 years ago. I never called in to switch to an LTE ready plan. I just got a iphone nano LTE sim, an micro-sim card adapter and put into S3 and LTE data works, but just not when tethering a laptop to the S3. One more thing, can you list all the Rogers APNs you have on the S3? Thanks |
