Noticed my S3 is charging up really slowly. searched online and they said it might be bad batch of batteries. anyone else experiencing this? Its prob estimated at 10% for 30 minutes

jeedee 01-30-2013 08:18 PM

No problems for me with charging.

Actually charges super fast compared to my shit BB 9700

...Speaking of charging forgot to unplug my S3 after charging :lol

Just got my NFC tags in the mail. Time to nerd out :fullofwin:

shenmecar 02-05-2013 02:10 PM

Whats the point of NFC tags?

sonick 02-05-2013 02:51 PM

Laziness. I can switch bluetooth/wifi, set sound profiles, etc. on with just a tap. Also prevents me from forgetting to turn off my WiFi and draining my battery when I leave my apartment.

Wouldn't you need to mount the tag somewhere you always touch before you enter/leave your home?

sonick 02-05-2013 03:17 PM

Yea, that's the idea. I always pat myself down before I leave my place for my phone, wallet and keys, so I just tap the tag while doing that.

My swift key beta expired :(

Try Kii Keyboard

Kii Keyboard - Google Play

I'm using that right now and it's excellent!

3klipze 02-05-2013 05:00 PM

I have couple tags sitting around still.

Best one I have installed is behind my light switch, so I would turn off Wi-fi and turn on auto brightness when i leave my room.

They're neat but I always forget to use them

Fcukedd 02-07-2013 11:35 PM

Is it normal for your phone to say that it's "roaming" when you lose connection? There are some lecture halls at SFU that have no reception, and my phone goes into roaming which does not make sense.

gars 02-07-2013 11:40 PM

I just bought Tasker. started adding profiles like turning on wifi when i get to work/home, but it's not picking up my location well.... maybe i'll end up buying nfc tags.....

vixroar 02-10-2013 03:26 PM

quick question...is it normal for the screen to stay off when you receive a text or whatsapp msg?

mb_ 02-10-2013 03:30 PM

^It is for mine

Normal.

Just make sure to not text when that happens.

If you don't want that to happen change it so that your phone is WCDMA only.

G-spec 02-17-2013 09:41 PM

Having an issue when I receive media through txt msg, whether it's picture or video.
Instead of seeing the picture or video there, it would just say "A Media has been removed" not even Google search for this specific term gives me any results
and the weird part about it is, when my friend who also has an S3 sends me pictures, they go through just fine. But when my cousins who all have iPhones do the same, it will give me that error.

Also the home click button does not work, it's supposed to take you back to the home screen at all times right ? it actually has absolutely no function at all, it literally does nothing.

I tried updating it, it's on 4.1.1, and when I click software update it says "Access to the software update service, is provided to users in the order in which they request it, Try later

Don't know if it makes a difference or not but this is a T-Mobile S3 that I got on sale from the Wind store

send it back to samsung for repair if it's still under warranty.

mine is flimsy as hell.

vixroar 02-18-2013 06:34 PM

I bought this black flip case but didn't realize that the back case actually replaces the battery cover until I received it so now it looks weird lol. If anyone wants it, its yours.

Charging problem getting worse.

I have the phone plugged in using the OEM charger and cable. When Its plugged and I'm using the phone, it wouldn't charge at all. Basically staying at the same % for over an hour. (I use my phone constantly to reply to text, twitter, email when its plugged in for charging).

edit: not a software issue for sure. restored it twice, still has the issue. Either one of the follow. Battery, charging port, cable or power brick.

Narrowed it down to charging port/Battery. Sending it to repair center.

charging port that has gone to shits in under a year = -1 Samsung

such bad luck with electronics. every single one of my electronics I buy ends up being send back for repair :okay:

If that's the case, I don't think it's bad luck as much as poor ownership.
