Someone able to help me out here? I woke up this morning to an s3 that won't connect to the network. I didnt change anything last night before I plugged it into the charger so this is completely random occurance and I'm clueless as to what's going on. I put my Sim into a different phone and everything works fine. So its not a Sim or mobile netowork issue. The phone is on a stock ROM and is unlocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try restoring the phone back to factory default?

So I tried my sisters rogers sim card in the phone as well and it still says emergency calls only. So for whatever reason its decided that it doesnt want to read Sim cards anymore. Awesome.

tried the factory reset. now the phone is bricked and im having a problem trying to download the firmware. got odin downloaded, but the firmware i downloaded was just an .img file? this has been such a pita for me as im a noob to the whole android world. kinda miss my iphone in situations like this because of how easy it is to deal with when something goes wrong with the phone..

The S4 had chinese interface by default in Settings -> Language and Inputs.

Did the update for the S3 enable chinese?

Mine only shows English, French and Korean.

@knight Kb. My note had the no sim issue as well. Do not factory reset. Google search Samsung no sim fix or something. Just need to flash another radio or modem

Took my S3 out of my Otterbox to clean it, and promptly dropped it... cracking the glass.

too late. did factory reset and a few other things with no luck at all. broke down and bought a nexus 5. lol

Odin restore images come in a tar format usually.

The 4.3 update seemed to mess with my settings such as my alarm.

And some apps disappeared like TuneIn Radio and Swiftkey so now I'm stuck on stock keyboard. On top of that playstore doesn't work either.

I'm having some annoying issues but nothing major.

Noticeable delay opening the messaging app, pulling up the keyboard and unlocking the screen.

Plus I'm not fond of some of the simpler icons, looks like they were made by a five year old.

4.3 is buttery smooth and quick on mine with Nova Launcher. Gave my phone a new lease on life so much so I ordered new batteries and screen protector.

Only thing I noticed that is slower is turning on the screen when pressing the home or power button. Messaging app is fine (textra) and keyboard is faster opening and typing (swiftkey).

put 4.3 onto my s3 and its quite nice. still stuck in emergency calls only mode.

Had to reboot to get playstore working again. Updated the above apps and everything seems to be working normally. Seems as most of the sound profiles have reverted back to stock though.

4.3 update fix is being pushed through now. Just got the notification on my phone to download it. Here's hoping it'll fix the issues that the first one caused...


Edit: Nope. My phone now looks like a computer desktop when you've downgraded from Windows7 to WinXP. Everything looks blocky and fucked up. Even with Nova Launcher and a couple other mods, it looks like shit. And nothing wants to load.

Just got mine this morning but I'm not having any issues so far. It didn't mess up any of my mods so everything still looks exactly the same.

Hmm what network are you guys on? I do not have this supplemental 4.3 'fix' update on Telus.

I am on Rogers, updated to 4.3 couple days ago and I noticed the colours on the screen seem to be more vibrant? My battery doesn't drain like crazy anymore and apps run smoother but one of my social apps would crash quite often

Seems like the phone is a lot slower with the new update. Opening apps and unlocking the screen has some lag to it. Not really a fan of it right now.

My contact list has been freezing the most out of all apps. But Yes, I also have a lot more frozen apps now.. Although, it does feel a bit smoother when I type.

+1 I usually have to input my pattern twice to unlock the screen...

anybody know how to change background for email to back... use to be black,,,,with 4.3 now only sms is black /emails background is white.. cant find.... :(
