I've eaten at his shop before and like everyone says, it's probably the best sushi I'll everhave in my life.
I just finished watching the movie, I really teared up when he started describing his child hood. I suggest you guys watch it if you can. It's truly inspirational, on par with the Senna documentary.
My friend actually booked for his business trip and his partner dropped out on him, I was lucky enough to fill his seat. For those of you who are going to go eat there he doesn't accept any cash, they'll walk you to an ATM if you only have credit card or debit. For the both of us that night (it's been a few years so exchange rate has changed) I remember the dinner costing something like 430 USD per person, but like I said it is probably the best sushi I'll ever have and I highly recommend anyone to try getting a seat there.
But for those who watched the movie what Audi did his older son drive ? Was it a RS6 or S4 wagon ?
^ that's subject for debate.
some say his rice is very "sour" due to the vingear.
also, he's very traditional and he's very used to old techniques. I've heard people say 300 bucks and while there are better sushi elsewhere, it's more fusion style.
It is the blue RS6 wagon that his older son drives. They mentioned how they didn't do it for the money, yet his oldest son drives a 200,000 usd (after exchange rate) in Japan...

Well put it this way. Steve Jobs pretty much could have retired by the time he was 25, was a millionaire, set for life. He worked until the day he died.
I think he could say "I don't do it for the money." despite him driving an SL55 Merc.
Watched this with the gf the other night and, of course, hit up a sushi joint right after. The movie was actually really well done and made me really think about the lack of effort I put into everything.
We both thought sushi afterwards was terrible. Couldn't figure out if it was actually terrible or that after seeing how much effort and care goes into the best sushi we knew about how little effort and care went into our food. Hope the feeling doesn't last
