Also your TD points transfer 4:1 aeroplan point which isn't really worth it if you have a ton of TD points.

Hey was wondering whats a good CC to apply? With RBC at the moment, and have looked at a few cards, just need a decent card with good features and preferably cashback. Full time worker and student that will just use it for everday purchases (and big ones. Using debit at the moment. Posted via RS Mobile |

Also your TD points transfer 4:1 aeroplan point which isn't really worth it if you have a ton of TD points. | First year is free. Subsequent years you will have to pay $120. The fee will not be waived by the All-Inclusive account. TD will still continue to support its existing TD First Class Travel VISA Infinite card with the all-premium package.
You collect double the points if you have an actual Aeroplan member card which you then present along with paying with your TD Aeroplan VISA.

highly doubt any financial institute would waive that charge. Maybe as a one-off, but definitely not on a continuous basis. I'd imagine that'd be a pretty big profit centre for Visa/MC.

What's the best CC for collecting travel miles? I was reading on the AMEX Aeroplan Plus that's on the list here on RFD - Hot Deals
But many places don't use AMEX.. and I prefer to have just one main credit card. Right now, I have the RBC 1% Cash Back.

I thought the same thing, until I got one myself. You just have to ask! I've only been turned down a couple times and those have always been at small shops and restaurants.

I find short of buying coffee with it, I have no problems at all - online purchases, restaurants, gas, shopping, it's all good.
If you're going to get the American Express card, I would really appreciate your using my link, which is here:
But don't get the AmEx Aeroplan Plus card, get the AmEx Aeroplan Gold card as it gives you more points upon signing up (30000 vs 5000!), more points per spend, and is free for the first year anyways.
Cheers

Yeah nowadays you can count on any bigger retail store/restaurant to take Amex. Even McDonalds/Tim Hortons take Amex now. The only times I've been declined were smaller Chinese restaurants (expected), and boutique retail shops (again, expected). Quote:

Cheers | Depending on where you buy your coffee: I already mentioned Tim Hortons, but I have my Amex linked to my paypal, which I use for my Starbucks account refills. I use my Mastercard only when Amex isn't accepted, and it's not that often I use it.

They gave me one with a low credit limit of $2400.

Thinking of getting the Amazon CC for the times I get gas south of the border. I've been reading some negative reviews about their billing. Was wondering if others had issues with billing.
My alternative would be the Chase Marriot card. I don't travel often, but might in the near future. Need first hand info on this card as well.

BTW, for those contemplating on the AMEX Aeroplan card.
I love it so far! It sends me email reminders weekly (or however you set it) on my balance just so I can keep an eye on it. Very friendly customer service people, they don't waste your time. Easy to use online interface as well.
Nothing I can think of that would make their service better.

But your regular non-asian businesses, big box furniture stores, and gas stations, usually will take AMEX.
Someone's gotta pay for those crazy benefits. And it isn't you directly.

BTW, I have Amex Platinum card because of Costco. No other reason.
I have PC Financial Black card because of Superstore.
Now I want a card with no foreign exchange transaction fee for buying gas south of border.
I don't always get gas at Costco. 6 cents a gallon cheaper is like less than 2 cents a litre cheaper, so getting gas at Sumas and not having to travel to Bellingham makes total cents. On top of that, Amex has 2.5 percent transaction charge on top of exchange rate.
