another computer issue

so i had left firefox on loading some videos from youtube/vimeo etc and i went to the can

when i came back firefox was turned off and there were 2 internet explorer windows open with some google ads

once i turn them off i get these "system error" pop-ups and "alert" messages saying my memory is malfunctioning and my harddrive has bad sectors blah blah blah popping up like a million windows (its the virus/trojan not actual windows messages)

and then boom my Kaspersky pops up saying it detected some Backdoor that its trying to remove

when i tell it to do so all of a sudden the computer turns off

i turn it back on and my desktop and c are locked out from me the desktop is just a black screen and those same error messages pop up from the virus/etc this time trying to get me to install "windows system check"

i cant load msconfig or services etc anything cant boot into safe mode at all (like i said everythings locked out)

so i took the hard drive out and hook it up to my desktop and use kspersky, stinger, etc and it found all the issues and deleted everything

so i hook my harddrive back up to my laptop and turn windows on, no more error msgs etc etc

but c is still locked out to me in that it says C is empty even though it will show 7gigs free of 40gigs i just cant see any of the folders etc

but when i search for my folders and files using the search function it will find them (previously it wouldnt allow that with the virus in there)

i couldnt even open firefox before but now i can when i search for it

anyway any idea what the problem was/is? as to why i cant look into C anymore or get my programs without using the search function (which seems to be the only thing that can see inside c even if i open up a program through there it cant look into c either)
