Silent Power on 370z

Got a question...i hope to get some helpful answers.

I've got a 370z with nothing but KnN Short Ram intake on it.

I am looking for another 10 to 20 whp. However i don't want to put an aftermarket exhaust on it. (i don't want the Z to be loud..i have other toys that is loud) What are my other options ?

Thank for reading

look in to the engine management software developed and sold by UpRev.

Good power has been made with their software and a good solid tune with a mildly modded car. best part is, the car will run and feel like stock as well with no comprimise to drivability.

im running their software on my boosted G35 and the car runs flawless.

UpRev - Engine Management

good luck

Remove the K&N intake.

Nissans use a MAF.

The oil used on ALL oiled filters will slowly go on the MAF sensor.

The engine will not able to read the intake charge properly and run like a bag of shit.

You can clean it with MAF cleaner, periodically, but it gets annoying. Also, you can kill MAF's with the oil.

You can do a better flowing exhaust including hi flo cats to get your minimum goal and it doesnt need to be overly loud.

Is there a brand you recommand ?(minimum sound)

I looked into Nismo Exhaust (this is with the less sound increase out of all brands i have researched) and it's too expansive ...

Custom. I do lots of custom exhausts. Today a client just picked up his V6 Pathfinder with a custom flowmaster catback with 3" pipe. Barely louder then stock but deeper sounding and better flowing. As for power gains on his I have no idea I didnt drive it before only after.

I'm sure BRM could set you up with a quiet custom exhaust.

They usually do pre Ghosn Nissans though...give them a call!

Ignore the guys talking about MAFs getting oiled, that would be said for a QR25 or VQ35 early gen MAFs, you blow on them the wrong way and they would die the Second Gens found on the late model 350z and the 370z and B16 Spec-V have a better sensor on them that means they last forever, i have never had any issues

I have yet to see one die from a normally oilled K&N. Over oilled is another issue but thats stupidity. A properly maintained and lightly oilled filter stays dry and oil free on the inside and doesnt pass oil to the sensor.
Cleaning your filter without letting it dry over night and soaking it in oil will cause damage but thats not the right way of doing it.
K&N filters would not be CARB compliant if they fuckd up the MAF under normal use.

Dry filters > Oiled.

These aren't Traxxas engines guys.

Even then, high flow filters allow a huge amount of dirt in the engines.

CARB has nothing to do with MAF reliability, it's about affecting emissions.

A tainted MAF fucks emissions. Yes dry filters are better.

quit hijacking my thread ! Anyways MAF ain't an issue for me...even if it dies i can alway put a new one in. And recently i have accept the fact to make my car as fast as my bikes would cost too much. Plus bike season started..so..screw the car....

Currently keeping it KnN Typhoon ... and that is it for now. Probably do cat elimination next..but only when time and money accepts.

Thanks folks for all your opinion it has been helpful.
