| recommend a nice 4dr old car
Sup RevScene. looking for a 4dr, good on gas, reliable in terms of maintenance, budget 2-4k.
this is not a WTB, just want to brainstorm and get some suggestions going.
My idea of a nice car is a 3rd gen civic, fits almost every criteria except only 2dr. 4dr civics and tegs look kinda.... weird |

Accord, Camry, Corolla.
My mom had a '94 Accord up until 2004. It was bulletproof inside and out - If we didn't trade it in for a CR-V I would have gladly took it

Good it's a Honda!....12 years old with basic maintenance and it drives like its new.
In the past 2 years that I owned it I changed the o2 sensor, tranny fluid, pads and rotors and regular oil changes. My dad and I did all maintenance work at home super easy. I spent maybe 450 on maintence in the past 2 years drove it 26000k since I bought it

Accord
I've had my Accord for 8+ years and it still drives like new. The only issue I had to fix was a broken power lock. Super reliable, cheap to maintain, and very affordable replacement parts if you ever need them. |

1990-1993 Accord (Our old one went till 360,000kms and still hauled ass.. sold it to a friend and it gave out at 380,000kms-ish because it started overheating... probably an easy fix.
1994-1997 Accord 4 cyl Updated from the previous gen... I'd opt for this choice if you find a clean example.
1998-2002 Accord 4 cyl, stay away from V6 automatics.

+1 for the Accord, my dad has been driving one since '96 and it's still running in good shape today.

3G Accord (86-89). There's a guy on 3geez.com whose family has one with over 1M km. My first one was at 486,000km and still going strong when I wrote it off.

I've always loved the body lines of the 94/95 accord, just has a clean look. I like the layout/position of the center console too.
The '96/97 changed the front grill (which IMO is worse), and the tail lights switched to two-pieces instead of a single piece (which IMO, again, is worse)

^ I agree with the front grill. But IMO, the tear two-piece taillights look better though.
A simple "JDM" ahem "ebay mugen" grill would look the front looks so much nicer. |

i'd recommend a 93-97 corolla... hardly anything goes wrong with these cars... might be the wolds most reliable car... seriously!!
that being said, early to mid 90's hondas are almost just as reliable, but waaaaay more fun to drive...

those old '91 accords were awesome. I'd take one with a few mods or a h22 swap any day as a DD.
Oh haro!
Sick I tells ya!

Asians -_-
LeSabre's are pretty sweet 4 door cars, extremely reliable, besides the head gasket issue.
They get pretty decent gas mileage as well, as long as they're maintained.
Unless you're looking for a standard, early 90's 300E? Then again the hydramatic's are silky smooth.

If you look around you might come accross an Aristo in the 4k range, with 2JZ-GE.
