that commercial... this close [ ] to crying like a little bitch
but i got my first ae86 hatch from some lady who blew the motor near richmond automall, only owner. offered 800 for it but she thought i was nice and sold it for 500... didnt even want the car but the body on my mr2 was thrashed so i swapped the motor into it.
second ae86 coupe i got from an old lady who bought it new it new from downtown toyota in 1985. her son sold it to me for 1000 with a blown sr5 motor, she was in the hospital at the time and was in bad condition, i drove by the house a year later and it had been sold and about to be torn down... car has 80, 000kms on it
they both have so much sentimental value, i really want an frs or brz but im not willing to let go of my cars. maybe in 25 years when someone blows a motor lol
My current car gets me bitches that my old car could never get me....

prelude motor died, always wanted a big 4dr specifically either a G35 or a GS... went with the GS300. never had a white car either, so that helped narrow it down...
first GS got tboned, had so many parts ready to go, decided to get another GS, never had a v8 before, so decided on a gs430. and never had a gold car before, so asian huh... so that narrowed it down again.
now i understand the appeal of lots of torque under 3000rpm, and having a car blend in through traffic.
First car: AE86 coupe with manual steering conversion and no sunroof, bought with own money from a guy in Abby for 3k with a rebuilt motor & trannie. I learned how to really drive manual with it, as I had driven a manual forklift before. Shortly after getting it, I used it to do a few delivery jobs until I wanted to focus more in university; I'm in my last year now. Since I met my girl while driving this car, it has temendous sedimental value.
Life was crap so I could only afford a used 96 accord, joined revscene. almost 12 years later, life is still crap, still driving the accord and still on revscene. aiya..
Dad bought a 82 Alfa Romeo Spider when I was little, drove me to school when I was in kindergarten or sit in the doggy seat for luggage and dogs where the soft top goes cuz I was small enough. Now I drive myself to school in the same car.
I thought OP wants the story of every RSer of how they obtained their cars, haha.
So... buying a BRZ will get me a cute innocent Jap girl + a moment with my dad???
