Good choice for my first import

hey guys, new to RS, i think this is my first post. So im deciding that i want to buy an import b/c my first car was a 1979 350 camaro(was a beast) and now a v6 2001 camaro(current) because i couldn't afford the gas on that 4 barrel. so ive narrowed down the imports that i wanted, something rwd and lhd, manual. and ive come up with the supra and mr2. recently im not even considering the supra b/c i heard they have mad body roll, just like my camaro and i think they weigh about the same.

SO Toyota MR2 good first tuner YES OR NO

thanks guys

Working on it isn't that bad, it can definitely be more awkward, and you will be spending more than half your time on your back. (that's what she said!)

Regardless, it's a super fun car, just take it easy in the beginning until you feel totally comfortable with it.

It's completely different from working on a SBC. It's awkward being mid engine and all..one at a shop I was at needed the alternator replaced...the entire engine had to get dropped out..no thanks.

That shop needs some better mechanics then. The alternator can be done with the engine in, I've done it. It's awkward, yes, but doable. If you do buy a '2, get the BGB aka Big Green Book aka, the factory repair manual. That also explains how to do it with the engine in.

Ya, I've owned an Accord too and while I do consider it a great car, there is definitely no sporting feel to it.
