Painted my calipers gloss black. Did a medium-assed job, but looks better than 14 years of corrosion.

instead of this

Who feels like helping me install a set of coils in a few weeks? Will pay in the form of being your personal chef for dinner.

the before shot of the guage setup

to the after... and the new wheel

i bought my car about five years ago and this is how i got the interior.basically i bought an oem guage pod years ago for this car but never had time to change it with the car never running right. (tranny problems, bad tuning, bad tranny rebuild x3) but after it got running i was getting irritated... as u can see from the first pic some of the guages didnt light up and recently the ari/fuel guage went dead from time to time. so i took it to my dads yesterday and my uncle helped me with what seemed like it would be a quick job to put the new pod in. the idea was to put the boost guage (pictured on the a pillar in the first pic) in the middle and swap it with the air/fuel guage and to also find out why the air/fuel guage quit. i also informed my uncle that at wide open throttle the air/fuel guage would read lean off the chart after 5000 rpm but the car would not knock or fuel cut so we decided to look at that too.

some quick job... after pulling the clock pod about 50 feet of wire came shooting out as well. we took our time tracing wires that went everywhere including down under the center console and found a few uncapped live wires and fuses which couldve cause serious problems down the road and ended up rewiring the whole setup...(as well as shortening all of the wiring from about 50 feet to about 2) the air/fuel guage we had to eliminate because the wiring was so bad it melted the guage and even the connector and was causing the voltmeter to read 2 volts lower than it was actually supposed to read. (YAY i dont have to buy a new alternator) so now we have a nice setup in the centerpod and the air fuel guage ended up being eliminated altogether. now i just have to get a new a pillar because the previous owner drilled 3 screw holes in this one. the guages we found werent glowing due to bad wiring and the a pillar one had no light connection at all. but it looks clean now and i like it and it all works.

Westopher, if I am not working during the weekend I might be able to help out. But if you need spring compressor and cordless impact gun, low profil jack ... I have some tools if you need them.

Just a quick heads up if you're lacking a basic socket set:

Good deal... You really cannot even begin to do anything on your car without a full set of sockets. These will serve anyone really well.

It's also handy to have a small tool set with your car's most commonly used bolt/nut sizes in your trunk just in case. Certainly saved me from a few BCAA calls in the past. Keep your good, expensive Snap-on/Mac/KD tools at home and throw a Craftsman/Mastercraft set in the car.

Sweet. Going to pick one up tomorrow after work if it's still in stock!

I've been collecting some parts in the past 2 months. Finally received my wheels today! Sneak peak

Dat feel when all those parts you purchased, prepped and sourced out, come together and you finally get to install them in one shot.
