Installed some FD Feed-Style side diffusers... broke one of the fender bolts on drivers side so only installed passenger side for now...

Shaved at least 1lb off the curb weight from all the dirt that was built up in the fender wells when I loosened the fender bolts. This is the pile from just one side lol

Repaired the door hinge on the Blazer. Let me just say that it sucks. I'd rather do a timing belt. :lol

At least the door no longer sags when we open it. Thankfully the original bushings weren't so worn out that it ovaled the opening. Rather, if it did, the replacement bushings were big enough that they weren't affected by it.

^ would it have been easier if you replaced the hinges themselves?

underscore 08-19-2013 10:41 PM

Mounted my wideband gauge while at my buddies place, just need to finish up the wiring now.

And on the way home my oil drain plug decided to fall out, bye bye brand new Eneos, hello Castrol. I guess the GTFour just wanted to stay loyal to it's rally sponsors haha.

Nope. The hinges themselves are welded to both the body and door. While it's technically possible to swap 'em out, I currently don't have access to a welder. It was easier to just replace the pins and bushings.

ohhh shit!..

I need to replace my driver side hinges soon, however on my car the hinges are bolted on.

Lomac 08-19-2013 10:58 PM

Yeah, every single other car I've ever owned the hinges were bolted on. For some reason GM decided to be different and weld theirs on. :banghead:

Up next, the Nissan. Shocks, upper trailing arms (if I can find a supply shop who actually has some in stock), and valve cover gasket.

Ah, so that was you I was chatting with on 8/6 day. Thought you looked familiar...

Used one self-tap screw only at the end of the skirt. Screws into the end of the rocker panel. Rest of it held on by 3M tape and the 2 fender bolts plus the fender liner bolt. Don't want to drill holes leading to more potential rust if I don't have to, lol.

Received a couple more KDM goodies as well. 1-way (amber turn signal) LED side mirrors and 2-way (white running, amber turn signal) LED eyelines for headlight retrofit. The control module turns off the white LEDs when the turn signal is activated and fades it on when the turn signal is deactivated.
